To answer wadi's question at the start of the vid, Kirby is canonically the strongest character in Nintendo, and no third party characters can really challenge him for that spot (the closest is prooobably sonic).

I love how wadi is reliving his childhood days of watching game theory, coney is genuinely watching and enjoying it, and Marss is just shitting all over it

Fair point that MatPat doesn’t need to tell you how friction fundamentally works, but this is a show with a very young audience. An audience that probably hasn’t thought about friction in that way before and (while I’m sure they intuitively understand it) it doesn’t hurt to be explicit and thorough to make sure they understand why all that math is being used in the first place.

@@Zoroark_Master I mean, it’s not really modern GT either lol to be fair, his very first theory was explaining all sorts of effects of relativity and applying it to Chrono Trigger 🤷‍♀️ he’s doing something pretty similar here, except with friction and Smash Ultimate and it works well!

I like how he uses the one thing everyone talks about when saying that ridley is the strongest character in the game. A gun does the same job.

MatPat just makes science look so fun. You get to find out interesting things about certain games while also getting your daily dose of physics knowledge.

Kirby is canonically the strongest. He can literally inhale the entire universe. He went in a huge quest because he lost a single piece of cake

Disclaimer: Kirby is only 8 inches tall, but has broken a planet in half with a punch, survived a planet-size explosion and can outrun lightning. He may not be the strongest, but he is far from harmless.

Canonically he actually is the strongest for two reasons. 1. Hitting a meteor hard enough to launch it 10000 light years in 15 seconds is the greatest feat of strength in Nintendo history. 2. According to Kirby super star allies (it might be a different mainline game, but I'm about 84% sure I got it right) Kirby has infinite power. No Nintendo character, and none of the third party characters in smash can come close to the first feat, much less the second.

It would be a little unfair to compare how they work IRL to their canonical game world to be honest.

Sonic is still canonically faster tho... So sonic could probably do the same thing if he drags you like Ridley...

@@mr.mcklockwork3828 The anime directly based on the game has the protagonist going all over and catching all 4 of the legends of kanto. Not just that, the games themselves contradict what you say quite a lot actually. But let's not get into contradictions, I've been around the block with many RPGs and this genre has an overused trope of young inexperienced people developing into god killers. In the case of Pokemon diamond and pearl it's no different, the story is a young kid setting off and catching more or less natural for that world beings that put down a higher alien being. The reason I like to think is because the writers want to make some cheesy life lesson with these games. These gods like dialga just sit there, cocky, farting in their seats, not moving an inch and shit, yet still somehow affecting the entire world but not moving or making any real effort of any kind because they know they are all powerful, so why do they have to try? And here comes this kid, 12 to barely legal that probably started out rough to make things relatable to the audience but just made it his literal job and way of life to fight. Waking up every day and getting into fights with nothing but a potion break in between then gaining so much momentum that the god just gets steam rolled in the end, it's a simple lesson of just don't give up, don't stop moving and you will succeed, and even though it's ridiculous it's just how most of these games are written.

kirby has killed multiple universes and dimensional ending threats because his cake was broken. he doesn't even sweat most of the time. hes killed someone who was able to convert the whole plane of reality into paintings, one of them the same for yarn, and has himself destroyed whole planets with ease, and then just goes home to sleep like its your average tuesday

Ummmm.... No? I mean if hes 8 inches tall you really need to scale down everything else in the games and realise that hes powerful for his size but in the real world would get clapped pretty easily. Him punchin a planet would be the equivalent of him punching a boulder, which is still impressive but not nearly as powerful as what people say

I thought that Kirby was the most powerful being canonically, but the one right before him would be Bayonetta most likely. Both are his slayers but one of them is able to control time.

Sephiroth can literally summon a meteor from space and destroy an entire solar system… but I guess moving as fast as a car is more impressive.

It's not the move that's impressive it's about which character can survive supernova, and for sure it's not Kirby.

The video from RelaxAlax about the canonically strongest charachter is much more intresting in my opinion.

I agree Kirby is canonically the strongest, but not because he destroys planets. That's something other members of the cast can pull off easily.

People forget that Kirby regularly fights Gods and universe destroying beings.
