How do you load designs into the machine? Is there a specific type of file it needs to be on a usb?

It requires a digitized file DST format. You upload it with USB stick.

@@ErikasWorld-2248 I'll make a video this week about that process. You need digitizer software like Hatch, Embrilliance or Inkstitch to convert your files.
