I guessed right. It's true that gimbal is still better than any phone stabilization, but eg. in my case I'm filming vlog style videos from my motormome trips. I haven't used a gimbal for a while because in my opinion phone stabilization is good enough, as there are no action movements etc. And of course it is SO much easier to just take the phone from pocket and start filming immediately. And I'm using a DJI Osmo Pocket too, but it's another thing.

I got it right. A just ran smoother but the gap is narrowing. I think a couple more years and we won’t see phone gimbals anymore

The little zoom wheel is also a focus adjuster. It’s low key the most useful upgraded feature and you didn’t mention it 😅

2:30 Got it right, but honestly just because the action mode has to shoot with a very short exposure time (to prevent this smearing you can see in other devices), making the image a little less clean. Looking just at the stabilisation, I hardly see a difference.

I guessed right, but thats just it, it was a guess. I really couldn’t tell the difference even after watching several times and specifically looking for differences on my 11” ipad, maybe on my desktop monitor it’s more obvious but on a mobile device really struggle to see any difference. I have an osmo mobile, probably time to sell it before it becomes completely obsolete, which judging from this won’t be too far away. Just like pocket cameras became obsolete as smartphone cameras got better, these gimbals will become obsolete as other smartphone’s stabilization improves.

yes!! you can put your OM6 in "action mode" it is called "sport mode", you just have to press the trigger button twice and keep it pressed, in this way the movement is fast!!!

For the tracking, I think the default speed is slow. Can you speed it up to keep the subject center or am I thinking of the Pocket 2?

Did they address the limitations with the spinning? The previous model couldn’t spin all the way so you had to use selfie camera if you wanted to film yourself. Is that still the case?

Got my new iPhone 14 Pro with the Osmo Mobile 6 and will try to replace my ZV1 with Zhiyun Crane 2 setup for vlogging... My next vids will tell if that works. Thanks for the review! Love it!

Bigbro question. If you use the extension rod to maximum. Is it still Stable and Firm? Because instaflow 360 is flimsy, and bouncy when the extension rod is extended to full most of all when the phone is heavy.

The tracking would be great 4 me cuz I'm all hands on deck. I'm not good w a gimbal yet, my pocket 2 has 1 but it is annoying sometimes cuz it doesn't shoot down lol

Active track while in selfie mode with rear camera would be good.

I believe you can combine features which would make the auto tracking much quicker for example you can combined tracking with sport mode this way it will track much faster

I had guessed A as well. Also because the shot was wider. I think this will be interesting for shooting 3D panoramas for the new Vision Pro. This could make that sooooo smooth.

I know nothing about cameras and have a terrible eye for visual differences. I got it right, but had doubts. Software stabilization in smartphones is insane, but physical stabilization just seems unmatched. Going to be recording music video shots, glad I opted for the OM6.

Odd question, but the color grade on the A looks different, was this on your end, or is the iPhone applying some different color settings when you activate the internal gimbal functions?

iPhone just messing around with white balance and maybe also just the post processing from the iPhone in general.

Is this something I can use with a GoPro?

The gimble may be a little better, but if you stabilization in your editing software (fcp, premier, davencie) why spend the extra money? You can use the iPhone stabilization and the editing software too.

From the get go camera A was absolutely with the gimbal..

The only reason I got it right is watching too much filmmaking content on youtube and you can really tell when a footage got a pro level stabilization. Remarkable features from the Osmo Mobile 6!

It’s a pity it doesn’t do torch mode properly. Torch mode on the original DJI gimbal was outstanding which helped remove walking and running vertical motion

We are Penn State! I have the Osmo 2 and all my videos on my Instagram are from the app with a couple apps. I can create a quick video in 5 minutes and make my clients extra happy that they got something more than just me DJing.

Camera operator vs. gimbal… It's like saying the scalpel did a great job instead of the surgeon's steady hands. That's the big misconception with this tech! If I’m using a gimbal, it’s for my camera, not my phone. The iPhone is for when I’m on vacation, trying to blend in and not look like an obvious tourist, or when "less is more" vibes are needed. Great comparison! Thanks! I was eyeing this gimbal, but everything clicked when I saw how close and stable the footage is. Time to channel our inner Brandon Lee and step up our game.

From someone how had the OM5 and now has the OM6, are any of the changes DJI made from the OM 5 to the OM6 are worth it in real world use? On the aesthetics side, honestly, I think the om5 (sunset white) looks much nicier than this new black om6

I always get jittery micro stutters with the DJI gimbals.

Not that anyone will believe me. I picked 'A' because the camera pan had that smooth mechanical look when the gimbal head is moving in conjunction with the operator moving the gimbal around the subject. You don't see that when shooting entirely handheld.

I took the Osmo 3 to Costa Rica, but it didn't work well with my Moto G7. Poor recording quality, like taking pictures in the Facebook app. It also wouldn't record in 4K. The Osmo 5 is pretty similar to this. I tested it out with the iPhone 13, and I was thrilled with it. The magnet and extending capability is great. My Osmo 3 had the double tap feature, too. It's sitting nearby, looking like new. I have hardly ever used it. I'll really look into this and upgrading my GoPro from the 5. I've spent hours with the Zhiyun Crane 2 SLR gimbal, and was really impressed by it, but there's some learning that needs to be done before you understand it the best. Trying to get a balance of gravity is important. I follow someone that has one of these, and he uses it to record himself while doing things around his mini bus. I keep wondering who is recording him, until the angles seem off. That would be good at times. A tripod is only good for so much.
