Loved your video. An elderly parent suffered a spinal cord injury with no mobility/finger dexterity. We bought an Echo Show, that has been a game changer. We are considering an Echo 15. In your video, you show a lot of swipe/touch interaction. At this time, we need extensive voice only capabilities. I believe in your video you commented that 99% of things you showed could be performed with voice commands. Can you comment about Echo 15 abilities for voice only commands? Thank you

Hi Mike. Sorry to hear about the injury and I can just imagine what a game changer a voice assistant has made. The echo show 15 will be very similar to your existing echo show but with more screen real estate… this can come in handy for larger visuals and clarity as opposed to looking at a smaller screen. We use voice the majority of the time and hardly need to engage with the monitor physically, that being said setting up the personalization features would require some direct screen engagement. Unfortunately, when Amazon updated the Show 15 to get FireTV, they made it so the Show15 can no longer connect to the Amazon recast device. Gone is local live TV and gone is access to recorded TV. A big step backwards IMO.

Interesting and thanks for sharing. I don’t use FTV recast so didn’t affect me but I can see that as a big issue. I’m also having issues connecting to my August lock, something in this version of the echo show is missing that functionality. I’m looking in to it

I was disappointed when I found out I couldn’t connect my Fire Recast.

Do you know if you can use ADT Control, Kevo, Nest Thermostat, b-have, Kasa, and iRobot?

Can you cast from that echo to your main tv?

which light do you have in-the kitchenete? i like it i would like to have it

It’s a regular recessed light (4000k light). The smart controller I use is WEMO and this one is a wall switch. You basically replace the existing walls with with WEMO’s smart wall switch. There are lots of options out there thought.

Hi, I made a hole behind the device and fished the wire through my wall. Use a stud finder to make sure there are no horizontal studs in your path. I ran a lead wire first from the hole to the bottom of the wall (where my outlet is)… then attached it to power chord with electric tape and pulled it through.
