Can politics be done differently and generate massive impact ? Antanas Mockus says yes, and draws for us his "social urbanism" experience. He shares why and how he has been showering on live television to demonstrate how to save water, been dressing up as a "supercitizen" to inspire his people to care about the environment, thus bringing insights into . Antanas Mockus was twice mayor of Bogota, Colombia and Dean of the University of Colombia. Although his accomplishments include cutting homicide rates by 70% and traffic fatalities by more than 50%, it was his methods, inspired from his days as a mathematics professor, that generated a new style of politics. In his attempts to change the mindset and behaviors of his citizens he became known for his social experiments to improve the city and has lectured all over the world on how to focus on changing the hearts and minds of the masses. His secret: don't preach, don't punish, use artistically creative strategies to empower individuals and create disapproval within communities of unacceptable behaviors. I wish Mockus spoke in Spanish to better explain his story, as it was hard to listen to in English. I would have rather read the subtitles as I did in the documentary about Bogota.

His English Isn't too bad at all .. just try to make an effort listening to him carefully and you will understand 👍🏻 he talks about the same things in Spanish trust me..

It wasn't bad at all. I was able to fully and perfectly understand him. This is a very smart man with lots of degrees and who speaks multiple languages. Spanish, English, French, German, etc. The issue is more the Parkinson; he was doing just fine at first but then his medicine was wearing out. You could see how at the beginning he was just fine and not moving at all, but as time passed the medicine effect wore out.

He should have been the president of Colombia in 2010. If he had been, our country would have been changed a lot of bad behaviours.
