When I read "smart blinds" I figured they would have settings like letting certain amount of light in based on the angle of the sun/amount of light coming in, or at least they open/close at certain times... I guess you could do that with software if you wanted to...

It’s pretty easily programmed to adjust based on your needs. It can even modify the settings based on the time of year or even the weather outside. C4 is a pretty powerful system in the right programmers hands.

With home automation, it’s easy to see and control these features. I use the same system in my home, one button shuts down the entire house. Or one voice command. If you’re worried about something specific, you can program alarms or even something as simple as a light to let you know something isn’t the way you want it. You’re only limited to your imagination and budget.
@someoneelse354

Agreed. I love smart lamps in my house, but they all still have their regular switch in the wall. Hardwired turned off feels good sometimes. No apps needed, just hitting the switch and walking out of the room.
@humandoing9675
4 жыл бұрын
Someone Else smart homes like this work using wall switches like “regular” homes. Using an app or other touch screen is just an added feature, not a requirement. Really nice smart switches can do much more that turn on or off the lights though. You can program them for other purposes, like tap the switch 3 times to turn everything in the room off ( lights, tv, fans, shades or whatever). They can be very powerful tools.

@christophercarman3121

@@edgarh252 No some high end LED strips have that functionality but for professionally installed systems that's typically done through DMX integration. The color changing functionality is mainly a gimmick used to draw people to cheap low quality lighting control, like hue. With C4, Lutron and other high end systems that's not a feature people typically look for..

@@liamarcher489 I don't know if it's private, there's definitely another property sitting on it also. More than likely it's there because a lot of times when you develop a piece of land you have to set aside a portion of it for wetlands and that's how you get neighborhoods with ponds. It might be the developer's house sitting on it. At least one of the houses on the undeveloped cul-de-sac to the left will sit on the pond also.
