There's a few features of this anchor app that distinguish it from others and make it a must have: 1. It uses the gps in combination with the compass and distance between gps and bow to accurately calculate the location of the anchor drop. In the video example it would be 13m off but with this calculation it is precise. 2. Even if Home Assistant reboots the data is preserved. No more losing crucial data because the anchor app quit or your phone battery died. E.g. no more "My phone died. Now I don't know where my anchor is ..." 3. Using the phone companion app you can keep an eye own your boat from shore and even from abroad. 4. If the boat leaves it's anchor zone you receive a critical message own your phone, even if you set it to silent. The critical message breaks through anything. (using the automation in the video) 5. I love the history so you can see where in the anchor zone your boat was the past 24 hours. 6. Setting the anchor zone radius by pulling the chain tight and then tapping the button saves me anchor-math which greatly reduces the anchoring workload. This integration beats all other apps. It is safe, reliable, can be used anywhere and is clear as a bell. For me it is a must have! I really commend Smart Boat Innovations for this great integration!

There is a lot more you can do with this integration. It creates a device tracker for your boat. That device tracker 'Smart Boat' (device_tracker.boat_location) has status 'anchored' or 'not anchored'. You can use that as a trigger for an automation. I use it in an automation to store the depth at drop anchor time so I will always know how deep my anchor is regardless of depth gradients. Then I use that depth to show calculations for anchor chain to let out a various scopes. No math at anchor time ... just decide scope and use appropriate chain to let out. Easy peasy. By the way ... the anchor zone (zone.anchor_zone) has an attribute 'Passive' ... true means not anchored, false means anchored. Just another way thought you need to read the attribute (is a bit harder).

this channel just gets better every time, there I was happy and comfortable with my new HA dashboard after following this channel to get and bilge/cabin and fridge temp/ anchor light/House Battery & Shore Power voltage and camera integrations and alerts, but now I'm pricing lithium cells & BMS and will add this to the fun...l!
