Thanks for the monitor app tip. I'm about to buy a smallrig and was looking at a monitor but I think I'll hold off on the monitor and try the app. I use Android so I'll try the direct cable for lower latency as well. Do you know if they sell the phone bracket with a shade hood for outdoor use? I also have the A7iv camera.

Sure thing glad it helped. I haven’t seen a shade hood for the phone unfortunately but that would definitely make a great find. The monitor app worked well on a real world shoot I had after I filmed this video and I’ve been using it since even though I already have a dedicated monitor.

Cool. Awesome review. I may get this for my A7IV. And the monitor using your phone is next level.!!!! I would co wider putting an affiliate link to the cage and the phone holder so (1) people have the links for both (and other items you use if you want) and (2) you can earn money if they buy from certain places. I don’t know everything about it, but I know others do it. I’ll look these up. If I can’t find something I’ll message you here or social media.

Ok, found the rig but don’t see the phone mount and adapter (maybe one piece). I believe you mentioned it’s an ARRI adapter. Can you give more details about it. It’s Awesome!!!!! Using your phone as an extra monitor is a life saver!!!!!!!!!

You’re welcome. Well that really depends if you shoot freehand and in 4K your iPhone might be better to use. The A7IV battery doesn’t last as long as my Sony a7iii and it also depends what bit depth is important for you
