Smallmouth Bass Tacos! (Bass Fishermen TRIGGERED)

Спорт

Thanks for tuning into another episode of Addicted. Today, we wanted to head to the Columbia River Gorge and catch some smallmouth bass, but not for what you would normally expect. We waned to make some smallmouth bass tacos! I've always heard they were amazing to eat, but never really eat them, so on today's agenda is a smallmouth bass catch and cook! Thanks for watching everyone, see you on the river!!

I throw a lot of my fish back (trout, bass, steelhead, etc...) but I don't know how we got to the point where we have to apologize for taking a couple fish for dinner. Commercial fisherman kill way more than the average person eating a couple for dinner. Don't apologize for it, just enjoy your meal!!

When they breed they build nests in shallow water and are extremely aggressive and easy to catch at that time so people go after them more when they are breeding also the fry don't have an extremely high survival rate due to all the other predatory fish also in shallow water at that time.

Glad I waited till the end. I was going to stop and write up how to do the cheesy tortillas for tacos. I do a bunch of little corn tortillas on the flat top, squish them down until the cheese is coming out the edge. One additional thing I do is flip them and fry the other side of the tortilla in the cheese oil. I still maintain that corn tortillas are superior for tacos, but it takes some practice to get them where they don't fall apart too easily.

I can’t see anyone griping about retaining a couple fish. Especially on the Columbia where predation on salmon smolt is a thing.

The first of my catches I ate was a small mouth out of lake Michigan. Tasted better than catfish because its slightly more firm

Recently went fishing for small mouth bass I'm northern ont the waters are cooler here longer. It was fun, tried a top water bait got nothing. Switched to the old mister twister and the lil guys couldn't help em selves. Super tasty by the way

Idk if you guys will read this but try a shakeup head or a 2.8 inch small swim bait. They get hooked and it’s a great thing for bass tacos low and slow and hit them up

oh hey jordan. which of those weighted floats do you suggest for stocker trout here on te eastcoast? they are usually from 10 to 18ish inches and in roughly 4 to 6 feet of water. we use 4-6lb test if any of that helps.

The one thing I love about bass fishermen (of which I am one) is to tell them to go get a biology degree before they can tell me that I shouldn't follow the regulations set but fish and game about the amount and size of bass I can keep. And I love a good bass fillet off a 5lb largemouth.

Yeah as long as you don’t eat all of them it’s pretty much fine. I don’t eat bass cuz they are harder to clean than trout but if you like em, you can eat them.

Guys! Wicked fish tacos man those are huge in Ontario along with a simple fish fry with beans potatoes and veggies. One suggestion though use lard as oil it’s (THE BEST) way to fry fish. 🤙🏻
