Smallest RC Crawler?! Orlandoo Hunter 1/35 Ford F150 Micro RC Crawler Build!

In this video I assemble, run, and review the Orlandoo Hunter 1/35 OH35P01 kit - the smallest production RC crawler! This super micro RC kit includes all you need to build a cellphone sized rock crawler! I got the Ford F150 model as well as some additional upgrades. This project tested my patience and perseverance, but it was worth it. Check out the video to see it in action!

Yeah, I'm a 62 year old life long hobbyist and modeler. I got the jeep, and got the chassis and running gear assembled, with a lot of magnification because I can't even read anything closer than arm length. It is tedious, but doable. Next step lights-- I've got the LED's cued up and ready to solder. I tested them with a test battery to figure out colors and polarity. Holding them in place for soldering using double stick tape on a box. Got that idea on another video. It just remains to cut the wires to length and get it done. Practicing up my soldering skills so I don't wreck anything.

Nice job on the install! They are a fun challenge. Glad you were able to fix your binding. Definitely pick up the Rock Bouncer (Orlandoo X01) or the DooRok from Tiny4x4. Those would be great for your little indoor course. Build those with the hop-up aluminum axles (60mm) for better low CG. Going forward you just need the Orlandoo ESC for the transmitter which has memory for additional ESCs.

I bought the smallest soldering tips i could find for my soldering iron and they were still a bit to large for the tiny little LEDs. All in all the lights in the front took about 4 hours and the lights in the rear took me almost 16 hours

About time. :D I love the Orlandoos. So far I have built four of them, and one more waiting. I have the F150 with the upgraded metal chassis (so much better), the Jeep (that would be perfect for you), the Defender and the Pajero. All with different stages of upgraded axles, wheels, shocks, motors and so on. Great little rigs. Next up is the M01 truck. :D If you want to build something really small (like these are huge in comparison), look up the DasMikro. 1/87 scale RC kits. Insanely small. I haven't one of those yet, but I really want to give it a go. :)

  • @Br0rB

@@CapeCrawlers The first one is the worst one. And starting with the F150 is bold. I found that trickier than the A-series, which is why I switched to the upgrade metal chassis. The axles are worse on the F150 than on the A-series as well, by quite a lot. I have built all three A-models now, and it gets easier with each one. Even the axles were "easy" on the last one I built. The Jeep is a really cool rig, with its short wheelbase. My Jeep is pretty much fully upgraded. I have a running video of it on my channel. You should have a look at some of the upgrades for them, other than just wheels and tires. I have the same tires that you went with on all of mine, as they are the best of all the Orlandoo tires I've tried. Also have metal beadlocks and the steel wheel weights on them. The metal axle upgrade is super nice. Extra weight down low, and super smooth. I haven't tried the 200rpm motor, but did try the 120rpm in my F150, and it was way too slow. Insane torque, for the scale, but too slow. I have found 300rpm is great for torque, and a little bit of speed. The 500rpm is really nice too. In the F150, at least in my upgraded one, you can fit an n30 motor instead of the stock n20 size. I have an n30 300rpm in my F150, and it's really nice. I have a running video of it, where you can see it's pretty smooth, and plenty strong. :) If you want cheaper Orlandoo stuff, I have found that Banggood does specials on them from time to time. I have bought two Defenders with the D4L and all electronics from there, on for myself, one for a friend, and paid just over 100 bucks US with shipping.

You summed up this product nicely. I have been intrigued by these for quite a while. I nearly ordered one on several occasions but when you total up the cost of the kit, RC handset, ESC, motor, servo, battery and any other accessories or upgrades, you are exceeding the price of a basic 1:10 scale buggy and that is a hard pill to swallow. Especially considering the fragility and capabilities of such a machine. Nevertheless, I can really appreciate the engineering involved and thus I remain tempted...

I only have experience with the TRX4M. But I have heard great things about the TRX4 Sport if you're looking for something bigger.

I always get a kick out of how size gets linked to price. Absolutely not coming down on anyone. But it's a bit of an American thing. All you can eat buffet of crap vs small, good quality meals at a nice bistro. Bottomless fries and soda. The material costs aren't a huge factor in product, most commonly. It's the manufacturing. Smaller it is the harder it is to make and likely the more waste producing.

LOL so true. And your comment on the axles, they are huge! Similar size to SCX24 but narrower.
