"Smallest Boat" I've ever built!

This collab is golden! Ryan Yin is such an awesome person. His personality is great, and his vibe/humbleness is unmatched. Normally I wouldn't even consider building this hull out, but the story behind the YINtin is interesting to me. To see how far hes come in the last couple years is motivating, and he's definitely someone who will appreciate the build! This 1st episode is just like the other 1st episodes of build series. A lot of talking and explaining. The next episode is set to drop mid week and it will showcase the entire metalwork. Stick around for the build series its going to be good! I hope you enjoy! #tincankiller

    What an interesting challenge! I like the drop you've fabricated in the bow so you can have a streamlined deck and the reinforcement of the bow plate, very nice. Are you going to install a recessed foot petal tray, and will there be enough room for a live well? With the weight restrictions and limited space, it seems like you might have to repurpose the bench seats! As you probably have figured out already, this build has my engineering gears turning. Awesome, I'm very excited about this build! Waiting anxiously for the next video!

    Definitely some good questions. Yes Definitely a footpedal tray and no livewell. A full livewell will be ⅓of his weight capacity. The complete framework and hatches are already finished. Episode 2 should drop mid week.

    @@TRICKEDTINS Thinking the same thing. Weight capacity wouldn't handle a livewell. That front is so shallow for storage till you hit the first seat. Pedal tray , transom transducer mount and some LEDs works. I know the build will be sick. But dang that's a small boat. The Yin Thin Tin Boat. LOL

    Crazy challenge. Good call making the front bench the graph holder. I think 2 longer rectangle hatches running the length of the boat with a single brace down the center would utilize that space good. Unless you’re adding float pods I def wouldn’t do a live well. Still nuts all that work going into a grandpas pond bank boat! Haha. You’re the man though, keep tin-can-killin’ it!! GET TO WORK!

    I am interested in seeing how this one comes out with all the challenges. Weight restriction, small space and lots of necessary gadgets to drop in. Looking forward to this build to see what your mind conjures up for it. Like the idea of LEDs for it. I like red since you can have them on at night and see without hurting the fishing. Question: given how thin the sheeting is, do you need to reinforce the front mini-deck before closing it off with the slope piece to ensure that the big trolling motor will mount without pulling through or cracking the mini-deck?

  • @TRICKEDTINS

    @TRICKEDTINS

    Жыл бұрын

    Trust me this one has the gears turning on all cylinders. I feed on challenges. I get bored easily. Plus I think it's good for the channel to step outside my comfort zone every now and then. As for the mini deck. The Trolling motor bracket 75% will be welded to the top rail of the boat so it will be plenty strong. I'm more worried about weight distribution and stability. My main goal is to build every hull out to utilize every inch as storage, without sacrificing speed! Speed is key. Nobody wants a slow boat... I'm on a killer streak of hitting both on the head so I'm confident with the YINtin!

  • @brandywineangler6748

    @brandywineangler6748

    Жыл бұрын

    @@TRICKEDTINS of course you are all over it in terms of the mounting of the trolling motor. Truth be told, many people have these tiny boats so if you can brainstorm a way to make them into fishing machines on a reasonable budget that will open a new world to a ton of people.

    I just got a marlon 1256 jon boat. I keep it on my rack. I wanna put a floor and casting deck in but im worried it might be a pain to get on the rack after. Its super thin @ .047 so it weighs 130lbs now. Wondering if i can pull it off and keep it around 20lbs total. 1 locking hatch that stays closed when i flip the boat upside down. Im on the fence. Hope this video series gives me some inspiration. Thanks!
