he explains it about a minute or two before this VOD starts, but it was cut off for this specific video, if you watch the one on twitch, you can see him explaining it shortly before starting the escape room

I wonder why it was cut tho, when the description states that this is an unedited twitch vod, which it obviously isn't as i've been stupidly browsing through the first around 8-10min of this video wondering if people who said the statement was at around 8min into the vod was just lying, or if i was maybe tripping or something. But no, just an edited vod, with a description saying it's unedited. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

For those who were confused like I was, I went back to check the Twitch VOD and here's the the TL;DR: They talked about things between themselves and that's where Eric wants to leave it since he regrets making things public in the first place. They are now on okay terms again though. Edit: Specified that it was in the Twitch VoD.

I think the misunderstanding is which VOD you are talking about. I believe the explanation is present in the Twitch VOD but absent in the KZread VOD. Hopefully the explanation is clipped and posted later so KZread VOD frogs can hear it.

When the twins first say "our pokemon have strength", I assumed their pokemon would actually know the move strength, and you'd need to sketch it to move a boulder. This stream was a rollercoaster of "oh they don't have strength" "wait is that a boulder" "no it's just a rock" "wait that is a boulder" "but still nobody has strength"

No lie, the idea of an escape room means there IS an escape, but you have to stretch your perspective AND learn strategem in order to find the exit. I think it's a clever training idea to the 'showdown' aspect of Pokemon.
