nice run! i been watching this game and cant seem to grasp the combat mechanics but after seeing you fight. it made some sense also i hope u do a playthru or speed run on this lovely game.

Thanks! Yeah combat is a little wonky, definitely struggle a bit. I'm fairly confident saying blocking is bad, dodge is king. That, and sound cues are majorly important

This seems like a rad game. Always enjoy the content.

I‘m still in my first chilled playthrough and after seeing FS‘s vid and yesterday the requirements for the iron wings, I already thought: this is what speed runners might go for - and here you are ;-D nice one man.

Thanks! Not sure how much, if any, there will be. We'll see once there's more content maybe but rn feel like getting OP with spear & iron armor then killing the earlier bosses won't be super entertaining. Maybe I'll do a proper playthrough at some point? Not sure...

too bad we cannot respawn in Valheim with our stuff . just give me my iron mace on respawn and i wont have to go get my stuff right away lol. Been waiting for this game to come out, almost forgot about, thanks for reminding me.

Omg, right?! I'm sure that would change the speedruns quite a bit! Game is pretty sweet! Had a great deal of fun on my first blind playthrough. Not as many hours of content as valheim launched with but sweet nonetheless!

Bought the game, played for 15min, figured I would learn what to do before hand. Water is death and that was close! LOL this is the best. thats how you get a spear. lol this is awesome

Yeah, they actually updated the game and that bit of water got a little wider! That jump used to be clean a couple days ago lol! Glad you enjoy! Cool game!

I never looked at Grounded but the comparison I'm hearing is that Grounded is more directed whereas Smalland is more sandbox, which kind of appeals to me more, I think. I enjoyed my blind playthrough of Smalland for sure!

I really enjoy watching speedrun videos; but, it pains me to see this is the only speedrun video for this game i can find on youtube. We dont talk about Wak and firespark81 dual speedrun cuz thats not a speedrun. Would it be possible for you to upload a pyrite speedrun? like full armor set with the great sword.

What are your thoughts on this game overall? Valheim is pretty much my favorite of all time, and I'm sad that there really isn't much like it. With the single map this seems like a combo of Valheim and Subnautica, another game I enjoyed (but only with like 1/40 of the hours I've put into Valheim).

Haven't played SubN but I think this game is sweet! I have a couple inventory management gripes and the combat takes some getting used to but I like it. Like you're saying, and for that reason, no way I'll get as much out of it as Valheim, but it looks like they have some big updates planned, so if they follow through might be pretty cool!

The vast majority of what I do in Valheim is Random Seed. Set Seed is another category of speedrun where you're allowed to get familiar with the map. Running Smalland is a lot like running Set Seed in Valheim because the map is always the same. Linked in this video is a Set Seed Valheim run I did a while back that is absolutely bonkers, I'm pretty proud of it. :)
