Small Town, Big Eclipse
For small towns in the path of totality, the eclipse is a massive opportunity and potential game changer for local economies. The Weather Channel's Katie Tutrone went to Russellville, Arkansas to see how this small town is preparing for what could be the biggest event they will ever see.

I think the people who missed the 2017 eclipse are trying to make sure they don’t miss this one. During that eclipse, I was living in Athens, TN. It’s a small town in between Knoxville and Chattanooga. We didn’t have an influx of people like some of there towns are gonna get this time around. BTW, Russellville is a town I considered moving to back in 1998. I had gotten off active duty and became a truck driver, and I wanted to move to the center of the country from California. I finally bought a house just south of Joplin, Mo.
Saw the last one in Oregon and was determined to see the next one. Drove to Russellville from Denver this weekend. See you all Monday!
Excellente!
Sounds like a very cool town!!
I'm a truck driver , i will be driving on I40 Arkansas and will try to make it to a good spot where I can see the Eclipse !! I hope I can stop at Ruserville! 🎉
Kudos to the editor(s). You did a very good job - informative and funny. Well done.

I think it'll be mostly ok. Always weather guys saying it'll rain but it just goes around us lol
I ❤ Russellville!
Great storytelling! 👍💪
Eclipsestock! 4 minutes instead of 4 days, btw, will there be music?
I dress up as a shrimp 🦐 and crab 🦀 at the Crackhouse Seafood And More. You got to try the food at the Crackhouse at the City Mall because it's the best tasting food around 😀
Rough town. America seems like a hard place to live, props to those that are doing it. ❤

Nobody is planning to visit to see the rivers or hike the mountains. Once the eclipse is over people will scatter as fast as they can.

You can always SAY you were there to see it. You'd be lying though.
