Särmä TST CP10 Mini Combat pack
(Sar-ah-ma)
Link : www.varusteleka.com/en/produc...
Price : $90.99
Weight : 1.5lbs
A smaller, lighter, sleeker variant of our full blooded Särmä TST Combat Pack. 10 liter volume, lots of PALS on the outside, a flat zippered pouch on the back, hydration bladder compartment on the inside, tie down straps against the back and a large mesh pocket on the inside of the panel lid.
• Dimensions 36 x 24 x 11 cm. Volume 10 litres. Weight 700 g.
• 3L hydration compartment, designed for the Source WLPS.
• Tie-down straps with SR buckles for a 200 round PKM ammo box or radio.
• Large mesh pocket inside the zip flap.
• A small flat pouch on the outside, for cleaning kits and the like. D-ring attachment point inside.
• PALS webbing on the bottom for securing gear, perfect for 1" utility straps.
• PALS webbing on all three sides for attaching pouches, tie-downs and gear.
• Strong carry handle with tube/wire/antennae velcro ports on the sides.
• The shoulder straps are intentionally minimalistic for the lowest possible profile. They do not interfere when shouldering a weapon and can easily be upgraded with added padding if desired.
• The shoulder straps have PALS webbing for attaching a sternum strap or hydration tubes.
• 40 mm Tri-Glide buckles in the lower corners for attaching hip belt (belt not included).
Finnish MILSPEC materials
Made of the same materials and hardware (1000D Cordura, webbing, ITW Nexus buckles etc.) that are used in the production of the Finnish military M05 combat equipment. High quality, NIR compliant etc.
Varusteleka Särmä TST
Särmä TST is our own family of specialized military gear. All Särmä TST stuff is made in co-operation with Finnish military manufacturers, the most important thing for us is high quality MILSPEC grade materials and construction. This is kit that you can trust to really take a beating!

    Man, you are really feeding my addiction to military packs...I bought my first one (an ILBE) after a review you did awhile back and i have steadily been researching (and buying) other designs. Love the fact that you show off European packs that we don't see everyday in the U.S.

    I bought Särmä DP-10, both green and black. Same capacity, same quality but without zippers, only with rolling top and fastex buckles. Still rich with molle webbing. Best small daypack I ever bought.

    I really dislike zippers, they are the first thing that will fail.

  • @bussimies6492

    @@adler830 I have really liked this backpack in daily use for two years now. The zipper however went just two days ago. As far as I can see, it went because the zipper is (by design) installed "flipped" in this backpack, and the zipper pulls now strain the stitching which attaches the actual zipper part to its fabric part. And that stitching actually even protrudes a bit, to begin with, so the wear may be even worse. The pressure (and wear) of the pull wouldn't be the same on that stitching, if the zipper was installed the "right way". I did contact Varusteleka recently, and I'm waiting for their reply. For their benefit, though, they usually are pretty cool on actual issues like these.

  • @adler830

    @adler830

    @@bussimies6492 That's exactly what I'm talking about. Imagine those zippers failing while being somewhere where you cannot repair it. If buckle fails, no problem breaking it away and use carabiner to close backpack securely. And to add salt to injury, zippers aren't exactly the best solution if hard rain happens. While rolling top prevents water leakage with ease.

  • @adler830

    @adler830

    @@bussimies6492 Good thing about rolling top is variable capacity. If your cargo is bigger, just roll the top a bit less. Still closed, and cargo is still safe.

    Hi, my name is David and I am from Germany. I love to watch you going out in the wilds. Here in Germany we have no poisonous snakes, no poisonous spiders, no bears and so on. I sometimes wonder how relaxed you are walking through the wilderness. Can you please tell me how you are protecting yourself against snakes? I mean just to always look for snakes is definitely important, but what do you do if a snake bites you? Do you carry some antidote with you? Can you please make a video about that? I am really amazed about the beauty of your country, but it scares me also. (Sorry for my bad English, but it is not my first language).......

    Don't get bitten! #1 protection, most studies are showing, according to ReallyBigMonkey1, that in the instance you are bitten, do not try to apply any form of treatment, this will usually make it worse, and could encourage the spread of Venom. The very first thing you do, except for trying to photograph or at least identify the snake that bit you (and, I mean, how likely is that? you just got fanged, you're panicking) (so they can figure out an anti-venom, since in most cases anti-venom from the exact species of snake that bit you, is the only antidote) is get to a hospital! Snakes can also bite through leather boots. So there really is NO protection other than your eyes...

    If it really worries you wear gaiters and long pants ,here in Australia we have loads of snakes most venomous ,but 1 snakes are generally afraid of us humans 2 they usually if not always have short fangs so do not penetrate thick cloth like jeans or cordura pants 3 they do not always inject venom when they bite often it is just wiped on the surface of clothes and 4 no animal wants to commit suicide and if it attacks a human size animal thats what will happen ,lastly be aware of your surroundings ,so you dont suprise and frighten the poor wee beasties ,and in 40 years plus experience of beating around the Australian bush you will be fine just like everyone else. All the best to you and have faith that your God loves you and wont let you get hurt unless you really want to act the fool and provoke his creations.regards Tom Adair.
