Where the hell was this video 40 years ago when I was frustrated out in the field trying to get the baler to tie a decent knot. Thanks for sharing an awesome, even today video.

GREAT video and description of billhook function. Thanks! I am 60 YO and been on the farm helping since I was less than 10 YO.

I’ve fixed dozens of balers all because people didn’t know how to maintain or fix their knotter assembly. Simple if you know what you’re doing. This is the best video I’ve seen on knotters

This is a fantastic video. I'm 72 years old and have been around balers since I was 9 years old. I never really understood how knotters work. This video has helped tremendously. Thanks

Many thanks for this video. My old boss on the farm used to tie to bits of string together one handed and it's taken me twenty years to realise that he was just emulating how the knotter in his Sperry baler worked. This means that he'd studied it and worked it out for himself, not a big surprise, he was an Engineer before he was a farmer, clever man.

Wow! I have used NH balers for 50 years this is the first time I've seen this process shown in detail.

Knotters are probably the most mysterious part of the baler and can be tricky to troubleshoot especially when the mechanism is not well understood. This video helped a lot to understand how they work.

Great video, helps solve the mystery of the baler, something that has puzzled me since I was a kid

I often wonder why John Appleby ( The inventor of the twine knotter ) is not as famous as Harry Ferguson. He truly was a mechanical genius!

Good day from Ontario. Our service man learn from Ferguson, my bro who was about 7 trid to show a knot that service man used. left over & under & then take 2 straight cut ends pushing them in each other & pulling that exact over 1 st knot, smallest knot ever from Ferguson. Thanks

Great video, have been using a very used New Holland baler for over 20 years and have been challenged by the knotter most of that time now I finally know how it works. Watching the video is much more enjoyable and enlightening than riding on the back of the baler. Thanks

I’ve messed with my share of knotters but this is an awesome video. Even when you roll a baler over by hand, it moves too fast to catch all these movements with your eyes.

Nothing is more frustrating then a knotter that will make like a hundred good bails then drop or randomly chooses to drop I spent a whole summer tinkering trying to get things right

What is the part # of the spring that hooks at the back of the knotters to a flap of metal, itself welded onto a rod going across the back of the knotters some 8in or so, and where does it hook to on the knotters Thanks

Note that the Baler was using Sisal Twine, the newer Nylon Twine is more slippery and harder to knot.
