I know i use to do that but than i realised that that my hole saws are get unsharpend in short period of time and it has to do with the heat created by long exposure to friction into material also that friction is cause by the chips caught up inside the cut so i prefer to cut half way from both sides is cleaner and saves my bits as well

When you cut the big decor panels on gloss side up you scored it with plunge saw fist I take it this stops the face chipping. Great video enjoyed it cheers .

Yes is called scoring cut i did droped the blade 2mm so first cut is done than did the final cut thanks for watching me work!

Yes only on seeing faceses one is 2mm deep is called scoring cut to prevent material frome chipping
