I actually prefer a "small" cottage-type house; never cared for large houses, which require more maintenance and can be costly. Matter of fact, my now elderly, widowed mom regrets building a large home with acreage. The upkeep is too much for her and she's always having to get hired help to assist with lawn duties. Your home is the same size as mine and it's absolutely charming. You're also a good steward over your finances, a wise shopper, and obviously an overall Proverbs 31 woman. Great job, Karrie Lynn! I love your precious little house! And I love the fact that you are so real about everything! Some KZread channels I watch are so over the top with the decor .. it’s like a competition among some of them. Not everyone can order from Kirkland’s and expensive stores. There are over 600 comments ahead of mine so I almost didn't leave a comment but I think it's worth saying that you are one a very small handful(actually 3) of KZreadrs that I still find motivating. I'm tired of all the huge homes that are really never dirty (messy MAYBE, but not dirty) and who buy all their decor at Pottery Barn and Kirklands....obviously they have beautiful homes but there's no motivation there for us "regular folks". I very rarely leave one of your videos uninspired or motivated. Your home is what I call a "normal" home and it's absolutely beautiful and I think it's just perfect! I remember when you lived in Georgia and that home was also beautiful. Anyway...I could go on but I won't. Thank you for always keeping it real and normal

Agreed. Rich people do not need inspiration from youtube they can afford designers. This is doable and appreciated by us regular folks.

The only thing in my house that is grey is my couch. Walls and floor everything else is white and brown. I actually really love the coziness of darker colors so maybe try to just add a few pops of white to brighten it up.

I absolutely love your house! I find that I like the smaller, cozy houses way more than the big fancy houses. I love how you made every inch of your house beautiful and special to your family. I am excited to go back and watch all of the videos of you doing the make overs.

Love the chairs from the trash so much! Don’t ever apologize for saving something good and turning it into a gem! I did that for years and even found things on the way to work destined for the dump because they were at the road waiting for the garbage to run ! Everyone always complimented me on my home and asked where I got things! I told them the truth! Mine were one of a kind and I worked hard to refinish them way before chalk paint and all the cool stuff we have now! I enjoyed redoing things a lot! Be proud to find a deal or something free! You home is beautiful. You have great taste. I lived in a 1,100sq house for 25 years with a hubby, 2 children and 2 (sometimes 3) dogs. It was mine and I loved it even though my friends had bigger ones.

My husband and I downsized from a 2600 sq. Ft. House to just a little over 1500, that big house worked us to death..lol. You have decorated your home cozy, warm and inviting. Tfs.

Your home is beautiful! Your wood finishing is amazing btw! I thought of a few ideas while watching. All having to do with storage. 1. When your daughter was in the other room you had the home school bookcase beside her desk. You have room beside the desk now for it. Then you could put shelves in her closet for those toys by her bathroom or for whatever is needed. 2. Use her bathroom as your makeup and hairstyling room. Then you won't have to sit on the floor. And you'll have workspace. 3. Your son's baby mattress will probably slide under a bed. Maybe in your daughter's room for a sleepover etc. Then you would have more storage room in his closet for toys. etc. Again your home is beautiful! The first video I watched was when you switched the dining and living rooms with the dogs and kids running around. I loved it! Been watching ever since!

Nice house, good job of decorating. 1200 sq ft is plenty of room, I grew up in a bit smaller and there was 10 of us. We were happy. Nobody needs bigger with 2 kids.
