Oh my God! Been looking for this forever! Thought I was the only one! Childhood restored.

My dad used to call me Small Fry because I would always watch this on VHS.

Watched this in NYC 1960's , it was on alot in the late 1950's and early 1960's. We all watched it in B/W in those years, it was one of those cartoons you never forget, like '' I love to singa '' another classic. Just type it in ,and enjoy it.

I'm pretty sure I had a VHS of Max Fleischer's Superman that had this short included on it. I can't verify which version it was that had it, but I'm pretty sure that's where I saw this originally in the 80's. I'm sure it's also included with other compilations of his shorts as well.

My Grandma had a tape where they put old Max Fleischer cartoons to Beatles music. This was the cartoon where they made the music video to "Let it Be"! I have no idea if she still has the tape or not, but I've been wanting to see the original cartoon for years! And here it is!

I had this on tape when I was a kid. Me and brother watched it all the time. I grew up in Jamaica, BTW.

Of all the bargain bin classic cartoon tapes I was raised by, this was my favourite! Well, of the ten or so I've been reminded of lately. There may lbe another contender lost in the fog. Thanks, @junoluver . You've done a good thing with these uploads!

I haven't seen this in maybe 12 years. I don't know what made me think of it now. I like how the faucet is attached to string & it just directs the water down..... that's some logic!

"To get one's feet all soaking wet" means Small Fry ended up seeing things he had no business seeing, especially at his young age. Even the members of The Big Fry Club think Small Fry is way too young to engage in what they do. When the people you idolize or try to emulate say you're in over your head, believe them the first time around. It's also in the same vein of this one: when people show you what they are, believe them the first time around.

I had this on VHS but only black and white and I could never remember what it was called till I had a dream about it last night.

I watched this myriad times on TV as a child and always remember it. Great to see it again!

Those might be specially-made cigs made for fish. If "Small Fry" were made today, though, we would not see the cigs at all. And the members of The Big Fry Club were once very much like Small Fry, and even they know Small Fry is not ready for what he sees during their meeting.

i had this on vhs when i was a kid. the vhs was a mixtape of old cartoons hosted by a guy in a full hamster costume with big 3D looking glasses. I remember two other cartoons from the tape, one was about a dog that couldnt get to sleep (for many reasons) and also one about swans... can anyone please post if they recognize that tape, thank you

They would have to edit the cigs from the cartoon, and they might have to rewrite the song to mirror everything. Other than this detail about the cigs, the cartoon itself would remain intact.

Incidentally, Junior (the "Small Fry") is voiced by "Popeye", Jack Mercer.

I was 5 years old as I recalled and a member of the cadets in school. My brother and I was big shots in those days and we liked school. However, my neighbor would always play hookey. One day he was late for the Academy school. The teacher to him, where have you been boy?" He turned and said, I was in the deep blue sea. I guess he ment the toilet in the latrine. "Perhaps he should move his desk in there", I said to out loud to myself. Then we all laugh and then continued our work.

I used to watch this with my grandma as a kid. She had it recorded on a VHS tape. Good memories.

I used to watch this all the time when I was really young and its been about ten years and I found myself singing the song. Watching this now made me tear up
