They are all so happy and healthy.... I love the little Chi racing along....Charger is such a cool looking dog.... so very white with the dappled head. lovely! And Riot..... I swear, that pup must have a jet pack ! LOL Thanks for such a fun video!

Yeah, his energy was pretty mixed up in general. I think he was either nervous about the crowd or too invested in what the crowd thought of him? I dunno. Just a feeling.

I want to put my jrt in dog agility, she already knows how to jump like 4feet high and tunnels and stuff. I just have to teach her to weave and listen when there is other dogs & people around

Is the course the same all the time? Does the owner have to memorize it once? or do they change up the pattern? Mine just started learning and has done 3 (1 hour) sessions. We had our first little competition last night at she won. (off leash). How we did it was just pick what we want and each item was different points. But we could pick the course as we wanted. I'm curious about real competition like this?

+Ron Kramer For each group the course is the same. They have diffrent classes that have diffrent opsticals in them. Yes, you do have to memorize it. However once the course is up you can walk as many times you like in a set time before they start. They also offer a paper version as well.

Weave pole training

This is regionals. Therefor, it is actual agility. I'd like to see your dog run at regional championships? These dogs are pulled from Cynosport USDAA Nationals, AKC Nationals, CPE Nationals, AKC International Team Tryouts, and NADAC Nationals. A select few get to run upon request. You don't get much better than that.

There are several factors in training a dog. One plan I discovered which succeeds in merging these is the Bevs Booster Guide (google it if you're interested) it's the best plan i've seen.Check out the great info .

So, what do these dogs do when they are not doing agility? Tear up the whole house? I love the concept, but prefer a well rounded dog, as opposed to using them for competition and entertainment. Just my opinion. The dogs in this particular agility competition, and others I have seen seem so possessive to their owners like "let me run this course or else!" The border collie, who happened to have the best run in this video, was by far the most well-behaved.

Actually it's the opposite. Agility is great for dog who have a lot of energy, it helps them channel it and really help them with being attentive to their owners. I started with my dog because she gets inattentive every time something around her happens and she has greatly improved. I see more change then when we were doing obedience...

+rapso5 Your dog must know obedience before it can respond to cues. In my comment I was referring specifically to the dogs in this video that are barking at their owners.

I have an agility dog who is also a working sheep dog. She can also come and cuddle with you at night, despite how energetic she is. It all depends on what kind of dog you get and how much energy is being burned a day.

Mark Thomas Just a Collie, not a Border Collie, but close to it in terms of intelligence and agility. Border Collies aren't eligible for "small dog" competitions.
