in fade out overlay one i would recommend y'all to use opacity & keyframes... select clip> select opacity> add keyframe> 40% opacity!!!

I am familiar with capcut and always wondered how some people edited so well with it, I thought they just used the transitions already made but at the same time they were doing things like svp and ae editors did and yesterday (Saturday cuz its Sunday now, i haven't slept a wink) i wanted to make an edit on capcut and saw ur videos and this was the first one i watched, so i went on and checked ur other videos and wow i seriously never knew we could edit like that!! I basically studied everything you taught and started my first ever edit on capcut and even made a second one by myself with the things i learned from you!! Really helpfull ! Btw to make the first step (fade out) easier you can change the opacity of the og clip rathee than adding the overlay thing.. Js sayinggg anywayss keep going with good work 🛐

Ive Never tried it but you could and see if it looks good for you :)

there is another way to do the fade out.. u just put a keyframe at the start and at the end of your clips. Then click on your clip and go to opacity and click the last keyframe either 50 - 60 is good ☺️ make sure the first keyframe is at 100 and then the last keyframe is at 50 - 60

For the fade out, you don't need to add the overlay. Instead, add a key frame at the beginning and end of you clip, press the ke frame at the end, then change the opacity of your clip to 65. If you want it to fade out further towards the end of the clip, than add a key frame in between.
