I only found your channel recently. Enjoying watching all the fishing. I've been spinning for close to 35 years, and am fairly accurate with my casting due to how much I have done. But don't think I am quite as accurate as you. One thing that surprises me, is how quickly you bring them to the net. They are mostly small fish, but you still bring them in very quickly. I live in NZ, so we seem to have bigger fish, and I tend to play them for longer. The last one I caught would have been in the range of 21 to 22 inches, and about 6.5lb (3kg). And I had one break my line in the same trip, so not too sure how big that was (first time I have had a trout break off in maybe 15 to 20 years). You should come on a trip down this way one day :) Anyways, keep up the entertaining videos :)

What I've had to learn to hard way is that I don't have to get a big range of motion to cast. 2 maybe 3 inches back then pull handle into my fore arm as fast as I can. This helps me gain recoil in the rod to launch lure. Light lures of course quality 2 to 4 lb line line on your drag because light line. Finally line tip of rod in the direction you want line and lure to go. Also make sure line isn't twisted around rod tip. I made 1 bad cast losing a Berkeley choppo 120. Thankfully I have 2 more. Plus after not fishing all winter I got a bit rusty.

Red worms on a size 10 Hook will do it

Yesterday I caught one golden and 4 rainbows all on a rapala jerk bait and and one of those small crawfish jerkbait. It was the only thing they bit on all day I tried spinners I tried nymphs and dry flies on my fly rod and I tried trout magnets but only jerkbaits worked. I caught a 23incher and you can see on my shorts if you want not trying to advertise

I am jealous - I never see you snag or cast into a tree! Newbie problems lol
