that whistle FM patch is spot-on, impressive!
A 3D platformer on the x16 would be wild to pull off if it's even possible lmao.

I like it better than the original. Cleaner, clearer, better bass. Have you seen what Kaze Emanuar is doing with the Super Mario 64 engine? He optimized all the gameplay audio code to fit into the 16kb cache. He says there was an entire synthesizer in code, but it was only used to play a sound effect for red coins. Everything else was samples, so he just made a sample for the red coins and got rid of that among other things.
The whistles sound really good here
