Finnish Championships in sprint distance 11.5.2024, final run. Much more complicated route choices than in the morning, which was expected and appreciated. Tried to read route choice to 3 on the way to 2, but couldn't decide left or right. When finally deciding for left, I performed it well. Most time lost to 6 (+39 s), hadn't read it ready before the 5th control, and ruled out the right choice even if I think that would have been faster. Didn't execute the beginning of the left choice well, but when finally deciding, executed well. Read the route choice to 11 on the way to 10, unfortunately touched the dark green area just before the control. I wonder why the organizers didn't put any plastic marking on the front side as they had done for the back side? Apparently green due to risk of injury around the corner, but should have been marked on both sides. Totally dead coming up to 11 made the rout choice to 13 difficult, I think going back taking the right route would have been slightly faster. Coming to 14 wasn't ready with route choice to 15, took the right one and preformed it well, but left over the parking lot would have been slightly faster. All in all very happy with the overall result and the physical performance, even if some improvement with decisiveness of route choices. big thanks to organizing club Espoon Suunta!
