I can hear you've caught a filthy cold. Pamper yourself a bit. I can see out the window that this is not a day to sit in the garden. What a shame. Never mind. Have some chicken soup, cups of herbal tea, and take lots of vitamin C! For today, naps are the best thing you can do for yourself.

Dig a small hole, place a cup in the hole, and fill the cup with beer. The beer will attract and trap the slugs.

Sleep 💤, tea 🫖, read 📕 and repeat😘

Plant the irises in some soil mixed with grit in a very sunny position leaving the rhizome half exposed and maybe use coffee grounds around to deter the slugs .

Those little plants with blue flowers… my mother used them for ground cover in her cottage garden in Brisbane AUSTRALIA. SHE SLIPPED SOM FOR ME AND I Have them in my terrace bed in Sydney, my brother has them in his tropical garden in Queensland and my best friend has them in her court yard also in Brisbane. They are so delightful!

Hello Alla, your garden is beautiful. Have you tried beer baiting the slugs? It is a real thing. They love the yeasty smell of beer. You add beer to a shallow bowl in the garden, they climb in and either drown or die of alcohol poisoning. You wake in the morning to a bowl of dead slugs. Repeat. There are lots of instructions online.

Sleep 🛌 💤, tea 🫖, read 📖 and repeat‼️

That little plant from Holland we call nodding violet here in Australia, it looks great in hanging baskets, mine flowers nearly all year round,good luck with it, I love your garden and your renovations

The beer method has been suggested many times. Maybe Alla just doesn’t like the idea of drunken little slugs stumbling around her garden 😂😮

I too am a gardener and like you I continue to make more space for my plants, even digging up the lawn…. I was pleased and very much looking forward, to hear you are doing another mural in your bedroom. This reminded me of your recent video visit, to the church courtyard and the roses you planted. I know you have such a huge lot to do, but during that video I thought how wonderful for the community if you painted one of your murals on the church courtyard walls. Most of our irises are cut back after blooming, the flowers do not need the energy from the foliage like tulips and some others flowers. Irises rarely look good after flowering ends.

Regarding the slugs: Years ago, when I had slugs in my garden, I was told to put down lids from jars on the ground and fill them with Beer! The slugs cannot resist the beer and gorge themselves to death! It worked very well for me!😛

Leave the irisses because its indeed the weather. They like baking hot conditions so its far to wet for them!

I love the Alliums, but sadly we aren’t allowed them in NZ because they are part of the onion plant, apparently, If Alliums were imported into NZ they could bring in global disease that may decimate our opinion crops and affect our exports. Too sad but living in NZ has many extra bio diversity advantages.

I'm from the Netherlands and I have three of these beautiful plants. The name is: Streptocarpus Saxorum and in Dutch it's named: Kaapse Primula, not a Violet but it is from Africa: the east of Africa.

The back gate to the public path beside the woodland garden concerns me from a safety standpoint. Hopefully there are honest people in your area but because others see your vlogs all your tools & treasures in the summer kitchen you are vulnerable to thieves. Can you put a lock on the gate to keep access to your property safe?

I look forward to watching your channel each time you have a video out but it just drives me crazy that you don’t look at the correct end of your phone so your eyes are looking straight on. PLEASE look at the correct end. It ruins every one if your otherwise wonderful videos and the progress of your beautiful chateau. You are very intelligent so let us see your smiling face straight on as I’m sure you know how to correct this mistake so it doesn’t ruin all of your hard video editing and production.
