this song is about Illenium's struggles and hardships he had in his life! He used to consume opiate and different sort of drugs! He said his mother never gave up on him! He barely escaped his drug addiction. About 10 - 15 years ago.

I love this song...

That cry at the beginning is haunting...

Its slowed down in a way that also lowers pitch, but yeah I'm not sure. Ideally he wouldve put her name in the original title

@@FadedMusic the vocalist is a he, it's Tim james but the pitch is raised, I guess when you lower it you heat his voice. Googled it btw, that's what it said on genius
