'Slow' Progress - The Importance of Working in Walk with Gelderlanders Luuk & Leferno

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Last week they were standing, this week they're learning to walk nicely together as a pair in their soft, rubber bits (from Winderen).
However... we swapped their positions on the pole! Which to these boys is a big thing to deal with.
We've a also got a new 'dash cam' (Techalogic) camera to run constantly, so check out the angles in the inset videos and let us know what you think!

They are a lovely pair and the owner must be so proud of them as they went through your training. It would be interesting to see them in the future!

Yes. It doesn't help much if only a master like Barry Hook can drive them. Well driven/trained horses can quickly be driven to "bad" horses. The success could be far greater if the owners were there. What today's problem no. 1 already shows: "too little time for the horses."

It seems like a miracle to me that one can drive safely in traffic with horses whose ears are as busy as their legs.

Thank you very much Barry and Rhi!!❤ Lovely to see these Two Gelderlanders learning about firm but fair discipline!! People often forget that Horses are learning All the Time! And, how fast they can learn what is Not wanted as well, especially if the horse is not handled kindly!! You can see them settling down and listening because of the patient and kind handling from you!! Best wishes and Kindest regards from Andréa and Critters. ....XxX....

Slow but steady will always win the race. You have to look at the long race, not the short one. Just like the Tortoise and the Hare. The Tortoise won the race, not the Hare!! Best Regards Baz!! Have a safe weekend Driving ahead of you and Stay Safe both of you!! My faverate horse will always be the Gelderlander. It takes about 3 mondth before the Gelderlander is convinced you are smart enough to take the leadership. I own a Gelderlander for 10 years and she was so smart, lovely and strong. She gave here ❤ and soul. Lots of people can not handle a Gelderlander because the have a strong karakter. Most people good not handle my horse, i good ride here on one finger. I get here out of the stable without a halter and she fallow me everywhere. My lovely lovely Ginger is in heaven for the last 19 years and i miss here every day so match. After she died i never ride a horse because it is not Ginger, she read my mind. Have a great day Barry. Greetings from the Netherlands

I suppose it only took Barry Hook a week for them to trust him. Yes it can be the same with humans, I read about that in an old book that a man couldn't have another wife after his died. How nice to live with good memories so that you no longer seek and need new experiences. That's maturity. When I was traveling with my horse Apollo, a large hungarian Farmer-Lipizzaner , Border-Colly Molly and two Chicken Tiki and Dito one evening I had such a deep peace that I knew: This life cannot and need not give more.

The horses are maximum awake, maximally challenged, maximum searching for rescue/help/guidance, from the mouth of Barry Hook and the guidance of his hands. Barry Hook guides them safely through the man-made valley of the saber-toothed tigers. (Barry guide us too but not on the hook of the fisherman of this world.) What a picture / parable. Divine. Love is omnipotent.

And at the same time he teaches us --- without irritating the horses too much. The horses don't understand a word but him/his benevolence, just like babies, as he would say.

I have never read or heard anything about horses quietly, very reservedly, even pleadingly, expressing devotion, confidential, communicate touching sounds. Strange ---- I hear that from my horse two or three times a week. It may well be that horses communicate so much more, but our ears are not designed for it. It often makes me think of a baby. Possibly has my speech encourages them also to share in this way.

I understand what you're saying. They both have a similar "build/conformation". Although I suspect breed experts will say they are very different to each other. But at a glance, there are certainly similarities. I agree.

A person, without much experience, wisdom and restraint will or could judge: 75 year old Berry Hook is a dangerous bladerunner, not only putting himself in danger. Hopefully this person is not in a responsible position for traffic and horses.

At worst, I think the horses might be less likely to listen to and trust their owners after training, now that they've tasted Barry Hook "vanilla ice cream" "sugar baby..." and put their trust in him. --- In this case it would be better if the master was only the soufleur, i.e. only trained indirectly, and was not even noticed by the horses. That's probably one of the reasons why Barry Hook shows his videos here as a worm on the hook of the commercial for "Everything and Nothing" that he wouldn't otherwise do. Is that how it is?

horse man prose The best/noblest/bighearted attitude of a doctor is to wish that he will (one day) be redundant as a doctor. And a teacher's best attitude is for his students to overtake him. And the best attitude in a politician is wishing to be a groom?

horse man prose 2 In this world of power and fear: The strongest is the enemy of the strong. The smartest is the enemy of the clever. The best is the enemy of the good ones The machine is the enemy of all non-machines The artificial intelligence is the enemy of genius. The virtual world is the enemy of the real world The richest is the enemy of the rich. The most beautiful is the enemy of the beautiful. Not so at Barry Hook and horses. You both are not from this world.

Some are, some prefer to 'hide' behind their blinkers. We try to get our horses to be happy with either.
