City life and moving abroad can be hectic, we dedicated a day to moving slow and romanticising all of the little things in our routine that are the new normal. ENJOY x
Going from living in a beach town in Australia to a capital city in Portugal, life is different for sure. And settling has been a journey, trying to find our feet, friends, finances and navigate the world of visas.
As we have become more established, life has gotten busy, overwhelming, and at some points ,extremely stressful. Consciously introducing more slow living practices to our daily routine and dedicating moments to just being present together has become so important in keeping us grounded.
Often the days get so busy or we get so consumed in all of the tasks and responsibilities of life that we don’t so much appreciate the little moments or see our walk to work, looking out our window or doing our groceries as mesmerising as we did when we arrived. And that is totally normal, as this is our new life.
Having days where we intentionally live more simply, at a slower pace, we can romanticise these moments and take in the simple pleasures of living in a tiny Portuguese apartment in a beautiful city, young and in love. We won’t be here forever, maybe we will, who knows, moving from your home town straight to a the opposite side of the world was a journey but the little moments of everyday will be our forever memories.
