Great way to mount. Never thought of soldering iron. I've always drilled with a counter sink bit and there is way too much room for error. Your method looks to eliminate the error factor. Great process! Thanks for the video.

Here's A Tip From A Guy Who Ran Slots In About 1967 to 1977 And Is Doing It Again. My Dad Joined Our Older Aurora HO Slot Car Track to Aurora AFX Track by Using A Short Piece of 1/4 Plywood with Two Slots Made On A Table Saw That Lined Up Perfectly with Each Piece of Track . About 6" long Just Put Them At The Middle of The Longest Straights and the Speed of the Cars Will Slide Them Through! ! You Need Just Two pieces Cut . Put One At Both Ends of Joining Track Pieces! So Basically Both Pieces At Both Ends of The Different Track .

We see a way of doing something in a new way and we think "That's easy." But the man who thought of it in the first place is a Genius!

The old Aurora track was better than the new AFX track that I have now. Like you said it had counter sunk holes already in. And the new AFX 15" straights are bowed in the middle and the rails aren't straight either. It's a shame that with the technology of today AFX can't make a better track.. I had an old Rokar set back in the early 90s and I didn't have to screw down 1 piece of it. I can't remember what track it was, but it too was better than the AFX track that I have now.. One more thing, the AFX track is so loud!! Good video. I counter sink the holes with a drill bit, but I might try this on an old piece and see how I like it?? Thanks for the info

They can make a better track, they won't, they made shit in the 70s under a different strategy then they do now. Now it's make it as cheap as possible and then sell it for as much as possible. Where the og track was waaay thicker/ more material then the new stuff.

Awesome I found your account again! This is the NotaNova that sent you the Caddillacs for the flower car conversion. My Facebook account went down and I lost my password so I haven't been able to get on it for a LONG time. How did things end up with the flood? Do you still have the hearse? How's Mezzy and the rest of the group? Thanks again for the Nova body
