    Thing is, even the scream from the 1999 debut hurt his throat, because he said he had no idea there was a "right way" to scream. This was even before, so I can only imagine, but.. damn it does sound badass.

    Those are demos. Crowz is a period of time where Corey and Anders recorded stuff for Roadrunner, it was never an album, it was never planned to be released or anything. Crowz gets it's name from an inside joke started by Anders, Paul and Joey. Go to Anders Colsefni's channel, he explains in all in one of his videos. TL;DR, he was right.

  • @imcnblu

    @imcnblu

    5 жыл бұрын

    Not entirely accurate. *if your first point implies that they recorded material together, then that is false* To start things off, Corey and Anders were never in the studio together in Slipknot. The _ONLY_ time they recorded anything together was on the song Dead/Weight from the Superego demo. I've personally verified that with both of them. So, if someone tells you that they recorded together in Slipknot, they're full of shit. There actually _was_ an organized album, technically two, in 97. It was done to give record labels something newer, in hopes of getting signed. And if it didn't get them signed, they actually were planning to release it, as a more polished replacement for MFKR, so that they could recoup they money they spent to record it. As you might have guessed, they obviously didn't get signed at that point. However, before they committed to releasing it, Corey came into the picture and Anders quit. So, they went back to the studio to remove Anders's vocals and replaced them with Corey's vocals.

    Corey's screams were on point during the 90's. I don't know why his voice went completely downhill starting on vol. 3 and especially All Hope is Gone. The earlier the better, because this version is so much better than on the self-titled. The guitars don't impose the low quality recordings as much and you hear the snare lead the vocals on so much clearer. "fuck me i'm all out of Amphetamines xD"

    @@joecormier8894That info is inaccurate, my friend. Sid & Jim joined in 98. If I recall correctly, I believe Sid was recruited a few months before they went to record the debut album, and Jim joined near the end of the recording sessions for the S/T record. He actually only recorded one song with them, Purity. Literally everything else was Josh Brainard. And depending on which version of the S/T album you have, it might not have Jim on it at all.

    I have a version I found on the internet years ago that has both Corey and Anders vocals, (although you can barely understand Anders voice), that i put onto disc. Corey sings the verses and Anders sings the chorus. Literally have never come across it since, but i still have the track. I can rememv=ber what the website looked like, but never the name as it was a russian music sharing site.

    @@gpyers91 Spit it Out wasn't written until a few months after Anders's departure. They only played two shows together and Spit it Out wasn't played at either show, for the reason I mentioned above. There are also no studio recorded Slipknot songs with both of them on vocals. In fact, Corey and Anders have only worked together in studio for ONE song. That was the song Dead/Weight from the Superego demo. Corey's first demos with Slipknot weren't recorded until after Anders was gone. In fact, the only "real" demo with him on vocals is one where they removed Anders's vocals and dubbed Corey's over pre-existing material. Aka, the "Gold Disc." If you're curious to what that music sounds like, you've likely already heard some of it, but never knew it. The "Gold Disc" doesn't have an official title. But, it's an 11 track demo that was recorded as a replacement for MFKR, to give record labels more current music. It's the real "Crowz" that everyone wants. Anyway, if you've heard the four low quality songs that leaked about 10 years ago, (Only One, Prosthetics, Me Inside, and Gently) then you've technically heard the music, as those 4 songs were from the demo that had Corey's vocals dubbed into. Tracklist for the "Gold Disc" 1. Slipknot/Gently 2. Me Inside 3. Do Nothing/Bitchslap 4. Coleslaw 5. Only One 6. Prosthetics 7. Carve 8. Tattered & Torn 9. Windows 10. Interloper 11. Scissors (aka, Heartache and a Pair of Scissors)

    @@imcnblu i know all about the gold disc, and the leaks that surfaced in the mid to late 00's. I have the song which i thought had both Anders and Corey on it somewhere in my cd collection, will take a while to locate it as there are many unlabled homemade CD's. I was under the impression that a lot of the vocals from Anders songs we rewritten/rerecorded by Corey, and some of the original vocals were still on the tracks. If the song i have wasn't official, then it was recorded by 2 people who sound a lot like both Anders and Corey, and by a band that sounded a lot like slipknot during that transitional period between MFKR and S/T albums.

    Put this on Crowz? Crowz was no "one album" it was a compilation of different recordings here and there with both Andy and Corey on vocals (separately). This track comes off the 1997 silver disc which is considered 'Crowz' material -- If I use the phrase 'Crowz' to refer to that specific time in SK's recording history.

    well i downloaded the "compilation" and this wasnt on it. i was aware of crowz being used as a phrase to talk about an era and the compilation. i just wish this was in the version i got. :(
