Wrong. Joey said himself he would have never left Slipknot. Slipknot and the fans meant the world to Joey. Slipknot was his baby. Yes he was ill and needed to heal. Doesn’t mean he has to be kicked out. After he recorded he continued playing drums but for other bands since Slipknot turned there backs on him. When he needed his brothers the most they cut him outta there lives. They did Joey so wrong and so dirty. Joey was the hardest working guy on that stage and in the studio

GamesoundtracX If you want, look for the West Palm Beach interview from 1999 (it was uploaded by SlipknotBootlegz) and that is a classic example of Sid pulling a Sid. He freaked out somewhat in the background and got on Jim's nerves, lol. Craig also spoke the longest amount of time I've ever heard him speak.

I love how this sounds both melodic and really chaotic at the same time. It's such a unique sound.

The reason it has goats in this video is because Slipknot is the GOAT!

It may sound weird but this album was what got me out of a cult. Everything in it resonated with me, the message, the anger, the belonging. Especially the belonging, I wasn't alone feeling how I did. For once, I wasn't alone. I'm out of the cult but this song still hits me like it did over 20 years ago.

I remember listening to this on my way to my bus stop and when I got there everyone could hear it because my earbuds where and max volume so this one kid told on me at school for listening to "Satanic Music" so I went to the guidance counselor and we got it all straightened out but as I was about to walk out of his office he said wait what where you listening to anyway? So I said Slipknot. And then i was crazy because he knew slipknot and he liked them too. And then he asked me what album i was listening to. And I said Iowa. And he was like, well that's why the kid thought it was satanic music so that's a funny story RIP JOEY

This was the video and song that blew my mind wide open as a little boy. I remember sitting at my buddies computer and he played this video and I swear I remember it like I was hypnotized, I was so young I still didn’t really know who I was, but all the imagery I was seeing and the sounds and how heavy everything was, just resonated with me, this video unlocked a part of my personality before I even knew what that was to begin with. I wanna say I was maybe 10 years old, and this was by far the heaviest, darkest thing I had ever seen, the scene when everything looks black and they’re in the rain playing, and the drums are lifting, the blood flowing from the clowns head, will forever be a core memory for me, those visuals hit me so hard as a child, and I knew I loved it. I’m 32 now, and I wish more than anything I could go back.

It is still the best period of the band. After this with Subluminal Verses it went down very fast. (Subluminal was even produced by the legendary Rick Rubin, but even with Corey being pissed as fuck he only saw the guy 2 to 3 times per week max, it never went to the Iowa standard anymore.) Oh, and they had the coolest masks.

You have to think about it though, between all the alcohol and cocaine Corey had going in his system between 2000-2001 and all the problems for the rest of the members, it was their hardest of times. But look, 2019 and we have a 6th studio album We Are Not Your Kind. That's pretty impressive with everything that has gone wrong for them, right?
