If this is a horror movie, Iowa is gonna be like being chased by someone with a laser chainsaw sword in the woods while you're bare ass naked in a straight jacket and you have to run for your life through the woods avoiding obstacles and wild animals. Volume 3: The Subliminal Verses will be a little more mellow for you, along with All Hope is Gone. Still heavy, but lighter. .5: The Gray Chapter is their best songwriting by far, with a new drummer and bass player (RIP Paul Gray). Might like it, maybe not.

Same here. I don't found it scary at all, I also find to be cathartic. In fact, I find raw music like Slipknot to be natural and real. I just get goosebumps and amazement every time I hear their epic music. Once Corey starts screaming and the crazy riffs and drums start pounding, I feel like I want to scream right along with them. They are very fun band.

My very first experience with Slipknot went like this. Back in the day, I had a crappy PC and played Ultima Online. I also ran a FTP server. It was a ratio server, that means you have to upload something to download something. Sometimes I got some cool stuff and sometimes not. Well, one morning I want up and check on what people have uploaded. There was this video... Slipknot - Spit it out. I was like... Hmmm... Okay. I start the video... The opening of that video made me go..."WTF is this". Then the guitar started. Corey started the first line... I was already getting excited. Then the song really started. My jaw dropped. I was like "WTF is this, and why is it not in my life already". I watched that video about 10 times, just amazed. Been a fan ever since. Up till then, the hardest metal I was into was Sepultura.

What you see as music that makes people anxious works in the exact opposite way for a lot of people. It's a release. As for saying it's crazy people music.... you said it beat yourself, you don't understand it. That's ok. Just understand that a lot of people feel the same way about what you have on your daily playlist.

Yep, that's why I didn't understand where he was getting at. I think it's also a release and like someone else said a sense of catharsis. Something that's really anxious is unpredictable or unexpected, and Slipknot is always open. What you hear and see about Slipknot is what you get.

First, there are 3 drumners, not 1. Second, i'm in a band that's almost as harsh, but we're all classically trained musicians and parent/grandparents. The music is about the therapy of releasing our anger, facing our fears, and acknowledgement of our sins. It's confession, for lack of a better term. Third, any art form requires a certain amount of preparation and understanding before it can be comprehended.

The power of coreys voice was so much more powerful the first 2 albums and they were hungry and willing to give every show %200. I still have scars from their shows i attended from 1999 to 2004 when people participated in the carnage instead of looking thru a fuckin smartphone screen! Corey taylor HATES how people waste the show lookin at a phone screen standing in one spot like zombies.

Know this is an old comment but i have no depression or anxiety. But Slipknot is a masterpiece of a band. I can feel their emotions in my heart. Something other bands can't do.
Slipknot is a grower, you like the more commercial songs and then you find yourself liking every song after a while.

Vol. 3 was my intro to slipknot and Corey Taylor, so it’ll forever be my go to, but you just can’t touch the rawness of that first album. All are great but those are my standouts.
Next album has "People = Shit" and "The Heretic Anthem". Buckle up.

Dude, you're just not angry enough. Listen to Slipknot when you're REALLY PISSED. I mean hating the world, wishing death on all of humanity, it's rather cathartic.

I knew it. A bit too much for him :D Check out Stone Sour, same singer but not the same style. I think you would like it
If this is a horror movie, Iowa is gonna be like being chased by someone with a laser chainsaw sword in the woods while you're bare ass naked in a straight jacket and you have to run for your life through the woods avoiding obstacles and wild animals.

It's nothing to me because iv'e watched horror movies since I was only 4. I love it when they go scary crazy with their music. It makes me excited.
This is an accurate reaction for anybody just thrown into slipknot for the first time.
This was funny. Music like this is all about catharsis. Many angry young men have safely got out there bad feelings with this album. When I first heard it when it was new I didn't like it, now I'm a fan.
@evanurena8868

You said something about "if you have anxiety don't listen to this album" it actually helped mine, it pretty much helps you escape reality. Gotta do one on the all hope is gone album. Certain songs you'll change your mind about them. Or listen to the lead singer band stone sour.
I love how you're so into the music and the drums and then when Corey comes in at 1:17 😂😂😂
Thank you soooo much for doing slipknot!!!!!
I know you didn't mean anything by the anxiety and depression comment. But I have both, pretty heavily and honestly listening to Slipknot helps ease it. It allows me to vent by headbanging. It's intense I know that for sure, but Slipknot has gotten me through some things man.

This has been voted as one of the best debut albums of all time! Crushingly heavy, uplifting and just straight up amazing!
What you see as music that makes people anxious works in the exact opposite way for a lot of people. It's a release. As for saying it's crazy people music.... you said it beat yourself, you don't understand it. That's ok. Just understand that a lot of people feel the same way about what you have on your daily playlist.
@evanurena8868

Yep, that's why I didn't understand where he was getting at. I think it's also a release and like someone else said a sense of catharsis. Something that's really anxious is unpredictable or unexpected, and Slipknot is always open. What you hear and see about Slipknot is what you get.

First time I listened to this album it actually helped me deal/cope with my depression. \m/
2:52 "you're gonna go over the edge" - I'm already over that edge, *keeps listening to Slipknot.

... 'I'm nervous'... Cracked me up, man! Good, true reaction! Keep it up!
as someone who fell in love with Slipknot in high school "horror movie" is probably the best descriptor i have heard for their style. Especially if you watch the music videos. Great video!
Lets keep it going 😂 you are a legend man. All 5 slipknot videos are great
One of the best reactions on youtube! Much love bro!
I find this a little ironic because I'm pretty sure I'd be dead because of anxiety and depression if it wasn't for this album
I have anxiety and depression and Slipknot make me feel great. Perfect stress releaver. Love the video.
Man this funny as hell...i think this is bit hard core for ya😂😂
Damn this is my childhood) I was 12 when I bought their IOWA album. So nowadays this is 12 years of my deepest love. Best band ever. Thanks for these videos man)

I feel like this is how EVERYONE should take in new music. Not just deny it or turn it off within seconds. Have a good approach on things.
His Tattered and Torn reaction has me rolling

This is hilarious. I suffer from both depression and anxiety and this album pulls me up and out. :)
It’s funny. You said the band is anxiety, and yet it helps me cope with my anxiety disorder😂
From some good Slipknot to some good gospel! Love the variety, and your videos. Keep up the good work man!
Great choice bro. We are enjoying this along with you on your drive. Your videos are fun and lots of great music choices. One of my favorites is with your homie when your listening to the Van Halen album 5150. That album, 5150, changed my life and I was addicted to rock music.
I was dead when you were looking so scared, keep up the reactions man

i love seeing peoples reactions to slipknot. i also want to say i listen to them to help my anxiety and depression it kinda goes with the whole to each their own thing
Bands like this are what I listened to in my high school years. It was a great way to deal with all the bullshit stupid emotions you get as a teen. The way I used this kind of music was whenever I was feeling angry or frustrated or something I would just listen to the music and ride out the emotions. It really helped me process all that garbage and get it out of my system so I didn't take it out on other people.
OMG lol Over here crying at the end!
Hahahaha love your reaction to this!!
Haha, your reaction to "Liberate" and "Eye-ore" lol
It's BAT SHIT CRAZY and I LOVE IT! Pure Chaos!!!
-Who's Coming To Get Ya? The Slipknot lmaooo
I love Slipknot! Especially when working out!
I would say that since I first started listening to slipknot at 12 back in probly 2001. Its always helped with my anxiety and depression..
LOL he cracks me up... Slipknot rocks/Corey Taylor beast! Issues is understatement for me and crazy I am LMFAO... this music helps me with anxiety!
I guarantee you, there are over 100,000 people who can name every song on every album in order and knows every lyric. I’m one of them.
that ending tho . lmao
Imagine seeing this guy driving past you on a Monday morning
Slayer!!! SLAYER!!! SLAYER!!! It has to have a marathon!!!
Interestingly enough I do suffer from depression and anxiety and music like this helps. I'm loving your videos so far, very entertaining to watch you get introduced to new forms of music.
I have Anxiety and I listen to Slipknot on a daily basis and it doesn’t change me...Slipknot is powerful to me🤘🏻
I suffer from anxiety and depression and this album has helped me through both
I still love this album! You were crackin' me the fuck up though lol cheers

8:50 JESUS!!! Love it man. JC loves you bro.
Love this BROTHA
You did a whole Linkin park marathon and now slipknot, two of my favourite bands, noice.
I was there for their debut at ozzfest 1999 and knew instantly that slipknot was gonna be legends!
Loved that album..so much energy..
