Slint performing the indefatigable song, Good Morning Captain to about 10 people at O'Cayz Corral in Madison WI, on August 8th, 1989.
This instrumental is a must-hear to Slint fans, and people who love rock music.
Just righteous. Absolutely fuckin' righteous. Follow the drums.

Hell yeah. It is intensely satisfying.
Anyone have pics of the 10 fans?
Let me in, the voice cried softly, From outside the wooden door. Scattered remnants of the ship could be seen in the distance, Blood stained the icy wall of the shore. I'm the only one left. The storm, took them all, He managed as he tried to stand. The tears ran down his face. Please, it's cold. When he woke, there was no trace of the ship. Only the dawn was left behind by the storm. He felt the creaking of the stairs beneath him. That rose, from the sea, to the door. There was a sound at the window then. The captain started, his breath was still. Slowly, he turned. From behind the edge of the windowsill, There appeared the delicate hand of a child. His face was flush and timid. He stared at the captain through frightened eyes. The captain reached for something to hold on to, Help me, he whispered, as he rose slowly to his feet. The boy's face went pale, He recognized the sound. Silently, he pulled down the shade against the shadow. Lost in the doorstep of the empty house. I'm trying to find my way home. I'm sorry And I miss you. I miss you. I've grown taller now. I want the police to be notified. I'll make it up to you, I swear, I'll make it up to you. I miss you.

I often wonder if Nu Metal bands could have been inspired by this
Kinda pissed I only found this now but I love how you can hear the difference of Britts playing from this and spider-land.( Both are amazing)

I'm gladdened by how much love there is for the drumming. It is right and good.
I mixed the live audio for this show, that was a fun night for being fairly empty. I'll post the photo of the Slint shirt I got paid with that night, not much at the door for the sound person...

Hang on to that shirt. This is astonishing... Did you feel like you were part of rock history at that moment? This performance is something special. Thank you, Bob, for being there. I can't believe those are your hands on the mix!

@@wordsisnukes much of the recording is coming from the stage amps for sure...
I wish so bad it got the drone at the end. Insane recording regardless

Wild Zero You're quite welcome! Thanks yourself; I didn't know where this show took place until now :)
Just awesome. Where did you find this?
Hey, I'm trying to get a download of this, and the rest of the tracks from this show. There are some files on Soulseek like you said, but they're taking forever to do anything. Could you upload the files you have to a filesharing site or something?

Wild Zero Thanks man, MUCH appreciated. Do you have any other Slint live performances? I'm looking for another 1989 one they did in Chicago, and I think there's one more they did in 1990 or 1991
This song is written in black letters in rock history.
