I gained so much respect for Slim Reaper after this fight. He’s a warrior. His post fight interview was hilarious. 😂

Wish I could show the CT Brain of the 19yo kid I just sent to the hospital. He was 'slap fighting' 4 days ago, and now has a mixed epidural/subdural hemorrhage. It is of 2 different ages, so he had an old hemorrhage and now has a new, larger hemorrhage. I didn't even know this crap existed until I saw this patient.

That kid was very likely competing in an unregulated event, or on his own, outside of organized competition. Our mission for the past five years, has been to get state athletic commissions to step in and regulate this sport, so that this type of thing does not happen in the future. In regulated slapping events, there is a medical doctor, an EMT, a commission, concussion protocol and proper regulation of the strikes to keep them from inflicting unnecessary damage. We have been spending a considerable amount of time, energy and money to lobby many US states. Hopefully you will see us gaining momentum in the coming year.

Another banger. The first stepping from demon looks like it happens after the slap. I’ve never really noticed this before but it probably happens all the time. Is the stepping (if it happens after) indicative of an illegal slap? I get pivoting into a slap being an advantage to the slapper but I don’t totally understand the mechanics when the pivoting is after the slap.

Yes, moving after the Slap makes contact is still a violation. The slappers are not allowed to use the momentum of their body to increase their power. They have to control the movement and use only their technique. That’s the difference between the amateurs and the professionals in this sport.

Yes, The slappers have to control the momentum of their bodies, and depend on their technique rather than leaning into the strike for extra momentum.

Strap their feet down and they’ll be blowing their knees out left and right. We would prefer they just develop the discipline to not move their feet, and then they wouldn’t lose the turn so often. Problem solved.

I’m a big Demon fan but it’s hard not to root for Slim, especially after that one.
