First time I've listened to this version I actually thought this was Fats Waller. At that time I put my KZread on autoplay and didn't see who sang it. It's a surprise for me when I found out that it wasn't him, but now I discovered another great singer and guitarist!

I had sort of a shocking revelation when I first heard this record last week... can anyone guess what it was? Hint: I think maybe only the most serious Ink Spots fans will hear it. 😅

I consider myself a serious fan, so my guess is the amount of jiving and plucking on the guitar? Just like how it originated from The Three Keys before the Spots cane to the scene. If it's not that, then is some later-to-be group member playing in the band?

C Porter You’re right about the first part but it’s a little deeper than that. You remember who Slim Green is, right? There’s a couple things in this record that legit shocked me and informed me. If no one else notices it I’ll probably make a video about it. Lol

@@AustinCasey okay, I will admit this is actually the first time I ever looked through Marv Goldberg's error notes in about 2 years. I remember hearing about slim green just vaguely. Though it says that he was quite significant at the time, it seems his popularity was regional.

C Porter C Porter Yeah his popularity never expanded much beyond the mid-west it seems. What shocked me was the realization that Deeks act was largely based on Slim’s own act! When I first found this I wasn’t sure if it was THE Slim Green from the Riff Brothers... but as soon as I heard his “yeah” at 00:50 I knew right away it was... then the way he says “Satchelmouth Baby”, “Oh you gate” and the “I’ll be bangin in yo door”. That’s all early Deek... or so I thought before I discovered Slim Greens records. Now it’s obvious where a lot of Deeks stuff came from. That 00:50 really shook me! Lol 😆

Is it just me, or is the pacing similar to If I Didn’t Care?

Jake, The Air Warden Indeed, infact the chords of the tunes are fairly similar. Not what I was thinking of, but I wondered if someone would notice that. 😎👍

Well it is definitely Tamer then Spike Jones, but it is wilder than Johnny Greene.
