Don't use oil or lithium grease or Dawn dish soap! Spray the thing the doors slide on with SILICONE lubricant so the rollers don't pick up dirt and hair like they do if you use oil or WD-40. That was a tip from the most intelligent glazier and man I have met in my life. But, yeah, clean the rollers first. I've used silicone for a few years after the glazier totally refurbished all of my sliding doors parts, and they are still a breeze to open. As well, he also glued a cover onto the thing the doors slide on. It's smooth and a fresh start.

What happens if the rubber seal comes away in the bottom part of the sliding door making it hard to open and shut the door

Thanks for watching, sounds like you have the same thing going on as we did. Our rubber bug seal is old and just couldn’t stay secured to seam anymore. You could also remove the door and clean out the rollers really good then lubricate them with oil.
