Need to do this on my Skamper pop-up camper. One failed while lowering, not fun. Thanks for filming and explaining as you progressed.

One thing you can do, if you run into the problem of not being able to find the right gear after you find out the gears are shot. You can do away with the gears. If the gears are the same size, then there's no power added by them. The only thing the gears do is change the direction of the power, making it a sidewinder instead of a top winder. If you make it a top winder, by eliminating the gears, you will need a drill to fasten on to the screw that goes down through the leg. Preferably a half inch, low RPM drill. About 750 RPM. Plenty of power with those. You have to deal with the open top for storing the jack. There are couple or three different ways to do that. You don't want water getting down inside.

You completely left out the most critical part. How did you re-crimp the threaded coupling?? Need detailed pics!

Hey Dennis G.....yaah you're right bro....kinda weak on that part...there is some explaining around the 11:30 to 11:50 mark. My re-crimping technique is pretty crude....hammer time! Good luck🍀.
