Thank you! I'm definitely going to try playing slide following your instructions. Now I know why I failed in the past, and it's because I was doing things the wrong way.

derek trucks himself said one of the most important things to remember with slide guitar is to mute the strings behind the slide. very nice.

Sarah, not sure if you read these, but if you do... Do you get to Nashville much? There is a guitar teacher out there, Erich Andreas known as "Your Guitar Sage". He is looking to improve his content for slide guitar on his UGS system. I think your teaching style would work really well with his. It might be worth you looking into the Collaboration (if you get out there). It could help more people hear your music. He works with artists like Rj Ronqillio and Guthrie Trapp and I think you would like him.

What did you record with? The picture quality was really good. I recommend getting an old beat up acoustic for slide. The action is often just right.😜 I learned to play on an Eko acoustic when I was 11 in 1970. I still have it! But I also have an Eko 100 which is a great old thing. The parlour type with the small body seems better than a jumbo too.

I use a cannon T3I with a fixed zoom lens. so lets in more light which is important for good quality. I also use a cheep shotgun mic I connect to the cam. you can get them new for $30. and the lens isnt that much either

Hey Sara I saw your vid on Dangelico zinc strings. Have you ever used them on another acoustic, like a Martin? Much gratitude! D

I have. they work well but ultimately I see them as electric guitar strings. Big fan of the ddadario strings on my martin
