Only a narrow loss in the Marlboro Cup kept Slew o GOld from sweeping the New York Triple (woodward, marlboro, JCGC) two years in a row. Cordero was overfocused on keeping Bates Motel wide in the final turn, allowing Highland Blade to sneak through on the rail.
