Young girls are brainwashed into the weird social connection with weight and age. Skinny girls are young and fat girls are old for whatever reason, but all “should be” attracted to older men but there’s a hierarchy there too. Attractive older guys are for young/skinny girls and unattractive older men are for the fat/old girls

According to my sister, because she used to work in a film studio as a production Assistant That's the only reason why they don't hire actual teenagers in films And hire adults to play teens It's because they can do whatever they want with the adults playing Teenagers. Whereas teens cannot work long hours. That's how my sister described it to me when she was working at the studio.

What's the problem with movie writers??? They are so sick to write a movie like this!! OMG!! 13/14 yr old girls dating grown ups?? Normalizing breaking into someone else's house?? Drinking?? There's not even one single thing that is okay with this movie. Movies' scripts need more control and filters, production should take more care of kids on set and of what they show and teach to their audience. It's disgusting and concerning.

I think a big problem is that the movie portrays it all as okay and fun with basically no consequences. When the teacher finds out his student was on a date with him to get alcohol, he isn’t horrified and doesn’t scold her, he’s excited and encourages her. Same thing when the love interest finds out she’s stolen his underwear from his own home, or at least been planning it- he’s somehow not at all worried about that. I don’t think that only pleasant happy things should be allowed to happen in movies, even movies for kids, but it has to be handled well, and this movie really seems to set all the wrong standards and give kids the impression that all these actions are only as bad as a little prank or something

The messed up thing is not only this film, but the first two Cinderella Story films had 15 year olds in real life as the main female characters (Hilary, Alexa, & Selena were that age in each film) and their male love interests were over the age of 20 (C.S.1= 22, Sleepover= 22, and the worst one C.S.2= 26…11 years older than Selena). That’s so creepy. And ironically, in Another Cinderella Story (C.S.2), most the cast (who were also Canadian and had Jane Lynch in it as well ironically) were over the age of 20, many of them in their mid/late 20s playing high schoolers. Then the most funniest thing, Zac Efron didn’t sing in the first High School Musical, the guy in C.S.2, Drew Seeley actually sung his part in the first film and went on tour with the cast when they had concerts with the HSM cast. Insane!

It's not like it was some high stakes role that audiences would remember forever. It wasn't that serious of a role. Just get another teenager. I made a comment on KZread or Instagram or something once about how weird it is that the narrative punishes Brie Larson for NOT hooking up with the older guy taking advantage of her, but not the guy himself (like the social consequence she experiences is from lying, and then it's just never resolved! She's just less popular because of her lie) instead of redeeming her realizing the guy is a creep and having him life get punch dumped on him or something. Like, it's a kids movie, it's not like you need morally gray social commentary. Everybody said I didn't know what I was talking about for some reason

I'm not even going to lie, I LOVED this movie when I first watched it at like 13. I can quote it near perfect with the way I rewatched it religiously for years, the nostalgia is super strong with this one and I genuinely didn't see the GLARING number if issues it had. Idk why I thought the speaker moving guy was also in high school (maybe cause he said he only did it during the summer for extra cash, I still honestly I dont think he's in college) and that all the girls were 15 but growing up and recently seeing different critiques of this movie (All of which are valid btw!) makes me look at it differently. I still love this movie, and will probably watch it again before summer or something but at least i'm more aware of what im consuming now. (I do wish they didn't just stick Yanci with a guy as if that would solve all her problems, especially an older one like here fat girl, here's a 👹MAN👹 to aolve all of your low self wsteem like what???? Is this euphoria or something like-)
