It's basically the Hawaii of Thailand (from my understanding). Koh Tao is on my list to get certified for diving :)

Sometimes you get unlucky. We went in December, which is supposed to be sunny. "Best Time to Visit Koh Samui for Good Weather: Late December to April has great weather, little rain, and lots of sun. I thought this hotel didn't count for the "Free Weekend Night Certificate" you get from the Aspire. At least is one of the listed properties by Hilton in their exclusion list. Did something change?

a) You can use it at the Conrad Koh Samui. b) You can NOT use it at the Conrad Koh Samui Residences. We used it for A but were upgraded to B.

I’m actually 3/24, but I got rejected for a CSP because I applied for it too soon after getting the Freedom. So I’m waiting until it’s been 2 months since the CSP application. Besides the freedom, I currently have a 4 year old secured card, and a Discover it and Amex Gold that are both about 9 months old.

Ha ha I’m staying at 25 to 35 dollar hotels in Thailand next month. Less than the taxes on that place
I have an exciting 3 part comment: 1) I'd like to think that I contributed ~10% to one of your nights here (used your referral link). 2) Do you think they upgraded you because you are now relatively well-known now or because it's off-peak? 3) If you're traveling with friends/family and you get upgraded to this 3 bedroom suite, can they cancel their rooms and hunker down together?

1) Thanks :) 2) We went during shoulder season (Dec 2018; peak is Dec to April). I think having status is still a key component. Hotel status seems to matter a lot in Asia (from my experience). It probably also helps that I'm carrying a gimbal + big camera at check-in ("must be vlogger"). 3) It would be too late to cancel the other rooms since most upgrades tend to happen VERY close to the actual stay (in my experience).
