Sleep apnea: Mayo Clinic Radio

Ғылым және технология

An estimated 20 million Americans have sleep apnea, and many don’t even know it. On the Mayo Clinic Radio podcast, Dr. Timothy Morgenthaler, a Mayo Clinic sleep medicine specialist, discusses diagnosing and treating sleep apnea.
This interview originally aired Sept. 28, 2019.
Sleep apnea is a potentially serious sleep disorder in which breathing repeatedly stops and starts. If you snore loudly and feel tired after a full night's sleep, you might have sleep apnea. Sleep apnea can affect people of any age, including infants and children, but it’s most often seen in men over 40, especially those who are overweight or obese. Treatments for sleep apnea can include lifestyle changes, oral devices and sometimes surgery.
