Sleaford Mods | Live at Melt! Festival 2016

Музыка

Hailed as ‘undoubtedly, absolutely, definitely the world’s greatest rock n roll band’ by Iggy Pop, Sleaford Mods are an aggressive, abrasive and opinionated post-punk duo from Nottingham. Unabashed in their lyrical support for England’s 99%, Sleaford Mods have repeatedly tackled issues around austerity and the denial of civil rights to the British working class. This isn’t escapist music, it’s politically informed, angry as hell and ready to challenge societal norms. Join the Sleaford Mods and get fired up.

Eloquent, to the point, and relatable to a lot of folks. (The song Jobseeker in particular hit with me today because I just got back from a job interview. Ha!) I hope they'll keep rocking for years to come.

I'm an American in Trump's hellscape economy during Covid time and I think Sleaford Mods are one the most important voices period, let alone just musically, who are saying honestly and with no pretense what life is like for those who get ground up by the machinery of venture Capitalism. It ain't pretty music for pretty people, but boy will it do for me!

@@checktheskies5040 As I said I'm American. I understand some of Jason's lyrics and subject matter partly because I have heard many interviews with him and Andrew, look up the lyrics on a website and have watched enough films, documentaries and follow the doings of British culture to be in tune with societal issues. Some of his hyper specific references do escape me but I definitely understand where Sleaford Mods are coming from generally. And as far as how things are? Well....we booted Trump. So, Hurrah! But we are left with his wreckage to clean up for years and his maniacal followers who are still threatening violence and the endless virus also.

Sleaford Mods are aren't a band from this decade; they're a 90's band that arrived late. They absorbed music and culture from the 80's and 90's up to now and that's what makes them fucking great.

Video quality is good but why is the first song (I can tell) of the concert missing? Censorship? Please upload the full concert. For those who want the full concert (59 minutes), search for Arte Sleaford Mods.
