Saw them back in 2009 with the original members, before Jeff's death and Dave leaving the band once again. It was still a feast for the eyes of the insane! And ten years later, I watched that concert film "The Repentless Killogy" in theaters and it was awesome, too. Now Slayer is back from their "hiatus", and I'll be waiting for what they have to offer! SLLAAAAAYYEEEERRRRR!!!

Honestly, I think it’s just gonna be festival dates, but I’ll gladly eat my hat if I am wrong about that.

Dudes just took a few years off under the guise of retirement. Welp, we have been fleeced.

I've seen Slayer so many times over the years. The first time I saw them it was in 1987 at a place called Pulsations outside of philly that's not there anymore with Fates warning opening and it was only $15 to get in 🤘🏻 I miss the old days. The most recent Slayer show I saw was at the electric factory in Philly with Lamb of God opening and it was outside and a nasty thunder storm was happening but the show went on anyway and it was nuts seeing LOG and Slayer in the hard rain, thunder, and lightning. I'm definitely gonna see Slayer again if they come to the Philly area because like you said we don't know how much long they will be touring 👍🏻🤘🏻🍻

I doubt they’ll tour. Tom said he wouldn’t want to tour, because of his health issues and hate for it, but he’d be down to play certain shows.

I don't care about the retirement or not. Heavy metal is at it's worth right now. I'm just happy that an old band returns to play live. Actual metal bands sounds too emotional now days...f.. that, we need aggression and testosterone. Don't care if Slayer are old or grand pas. I survived the 90s crappy grunge music thanks to Seasons in the Abyss. Slayer's returns is surely a good news for me. Hope the same thing for many others. This is beyond awesome, no matter their age.

it seems like them cashing in on one hand, but on the other hand, i've been to quite a few shows and the two slayer shows i went to are still among the best, so it's hard to say it's disappointing they're back on the roster

My luck is really good right now first I get a free Pokémon tcb etb box then new photos for Godzilla x Kong get leaked then the borderlands movies trailer gets released and now I find out that slayer is getting back together hell yeah

I want Slayer to record a Christmas album, called Krampus Carols.

Kerry king was right they will be back but without lombardo. Now its our chance to see them no complaints for that

My guess is Kerry tours consistently with his solo band, and a couple Slayer dates a year, I compared it to how the Misfits are these days. Also Killbot, Al Jourgensen said in a Loudwire interview last night that the “final” Ministry album will be a collaboration with Paul Barker again, any thoughts on that?

Does feel a bit off given final campaign was just barely 5 years ago but having got into metal properly in lockdown and reign in blood blowing my mind I was gutted to see they’d pretty much just retired granted they’ll probably only do Download over here in the uk but I’m fucking hyped!! 🤘

If I could see Slayer even under these circumstances,I would I probably won't though,so I can be disappointed at them returning for a paycheck and not have moral debates about this. I honestly just wish Tom would have said no. He was looking and sounding very tired in last Slayer tours and I can't really imagine him sounding 10 years younger after an admittedly long rest.

I'm seeing the new kerry king project open for Lamb Of God (ik you don't really care for L.O.G) but now like if i can see Slayer, I'll be able to say I've seen the big 4 with my DAD who's already seen ALL bands as a kid...but...thanks to your vids I've gotten more into them. Mötley Crüe was my first show and seeing them years later (last year) it was a great way to bring back memories from my childhood...that said....FUCKING SLAYERRRRRRRR

I don't think there will be a tour. Maybe a few performances. I saw them last time and it was great, but I am kind of disappointed that they pulled that move, I thought they were better than this. At least I hope they won't perform the way Motley Crue does.

Haha, it's like scamming us is becoming normal for certain artists. Slayer very much in the style of KISS, Scorpions, Mötley Crüe, even Ozzy since 1993. These artists "retire" and "come back" every time they need to pay their mortgage. Maybe this time we will see Kerry King playing guitar, bass and singing at the same time, since according to him he always played all of that on Slayer's albums, haha. It also seems that Ministry is "retiring", and that Al Jourgensen invited Paul Barker to return to the band to record a "last album" and do a "retirement" tour.

@@KillbotAndGorGorAttack I think the same as you, I think Ministry could be like Emperor, or KISS or Queen, even AC/DC or Aerosmith who are dedicated to always playing their greatest hits and only touring. I also think that Al still has a lot of creativity, he could do like Trent Reznor by dedicating himself to producing and making Soundtracks, it seems like it is a good business. He says he feels old at 65 that's why he decided to retire. Mick Jagger is 80 and he still rocking so that's an excuse. Another who could do the same is cEvin Key, look at Dave "Rave" Ogilvie how well he has done as a producer and making music for advertising.

You brought up an important issue about new bands that is gonna affect the future somehow. Only well known bands are touring since the pandemic is over, and partnering up with each other, smaller bands are not making money for 4 years. They are making songs probably and having other jobs and waiting for this cycle to end. If the next cycle gets stablished by only well known bands making money, there is gonna be a shortage of new music in the alternative circles Those sharks are fighting for available venues and small bands and not so small bands are releasing music but can't play live. So the standard for new bands might become unattainable. So if you release music but can't make money with it, are we heading to the end of professional music as we know it in the alternative subgenres?

I think it's funny more than anything because this is what always happens when big name legacy acts say they're retiring. It's all about business over artist integrity. But at least the fans are happy because really though, Kerry King solo just isn't interesting.
