Thinking of picking up in sale.. exclusivley handheld, question open to all.. how small is the text in handheld, im a bit older and sight not so good, games on switch that are optimised for switch have larger fonts, but im concerned from the videos that text is tiny ? Thanx in advance!

Ive never been into card games, but your enthusiasm for this one has me intrigued. In 8 days i leave for the summer, and will be offline for 2 months. My switch is my savior. Considering picking this one up.

@@TheFlannelFox I'm not huge on rogue likes/lites but I'm starting to come around so I'm not sure. It does look solid though so I might pick up on sale! Shannon might like this one though so maybe we'll end up getting it anyways haha.

Great review. I love this on pc but I'm a bit concerned about some of the performance issues. I'll probably wait for a patch.

Spoke with 2 of the devs for this game. The PS4 and Switch will be receiving patches soon that will fix the crashing and frame rate problems. One of the devs told me that they aren't doing the porting, another company is. They personally test the PC versions and make sure it's fine, and is unsure how the game got through Nintendo Quality Insurance tests.

@@TheFlannelFox Of course! They said that the devs who made the switch port for Stardew Valley made this port. That gives me a good idea that they'll have this game running smooth in no time. The Stardew Valley port has no issues from what I can tell so hopefully they can get these bugs worked out!

@@Yeti1473 the Starfew Valley port has rare freezes if you have a lot going on in your farm (which you will have if you play for awhile). However it used to be way worse, so the porting company have proved themselves being able to fix performance issues. Nintendos patch approvals can take up to two weeks though, which makes me hesitant buying the game in the state it's in right now.

I think I'll wait for some patches before buying this one; game crashes are so annoying, progress lost or not. It was a surprise to hear a 9 out of 10 for a game that crashes; you obviously love it. Thanks for the review. ;)

This looks fun! Reminds me of a mode in Hearthstone when I played that. May have to pick this up but I still want to beat Steamworld Quest first.

I got a switch a week or so ago and this game and steamworld quest were 2 of the games that I bought for it. Very good picks if you like card games.

Just bought the physical copy of this game a few weeks ago. Loving it. I don't however know what it means to "complete a full run". Thus I havent unlocked the last character. Because I have beaten a whole map multiple times. Up to 2 yo 3 times in one go. What's "completion " in this game?

@@MarkSkids Yeah. I've since beat it a bunch of times. I don't know what ascension 20 Is but I have unlocked The Watcher and made it to the credit scene a bunch. Now I'm trying to complete a run as The Watcher and collect those 3 gems that extends the campaign into what I believe is one more last boss fight. At least I hope it's the last one because I only made it there with the watcher once and got annihilated quickly. her Deck is just too quirky to ever be a sure thing for me no matter which cards i have. I'm not sure if that extension was added in with The Watcher or would have always been there with whichever one of the 3 I completed a run with last had the watcher not been there.

"Whom wields" "Whom" isn't just the polite version of "who." It's the object form. You only use "whom" if you would use "him" "her" "me" etc. You wouldn't say "him wields" but "he wields." Likewise, you wouldn't say "whom wields" but "who wields."

They are VERRRRY different speeds. SWQ is more forgiving IMO, also way more story. A comfort food sort of, but I play a lot of card games.

lol it's totallllly not shit, honestly I'm having a blast with it, just some technical issues that hopefully will get patched out. It's still the version I'd recommend, as it's portable.

If they are, the port is shit (i never said, that the game itself is shit). That's what ports are all about. I'm just disappointed, cause it took so long for them to release it on switch. I was awaiting perfection.
