Yes, I think that's what he meant with "rare miracles" at the end. There's a guy with a different culture living next door, but we shouldn't be forced to discover our similarities. That's like being forced to work with someone you don't know in school. I want to live next door to that guy and completely ignore him, then one day he accepted a parcel for me, so I go over to him and discover he wears a shirt of my favorite band, we have a short conversation and that's it. You can't force these things.

Hate and fear are the unifying parameters of man. "Not love your neighbor as thyself" Or to even take this suggestion one step further : Because we cannot love ourselves as ordered by a commandment , we give the neighbor what we feel truly for ourselves : *Contempt and rejection. . .* Sorry , I don't have time to develop this further now ~ Zizek 🏆 precise and wonderful 👌

    45. Zizek argues that the measures against Greece would be even more severe if they were in line with the sentiments of EU citizens. But he is silent about the fact that the responsibility of EU officials who allowed such a situation would also be much higher. Because the growth of Greece's debt was contrary to EU regulations. That is, in these conditions, no one is responsible for non-compliance with the established rules. Freedom and responsibility are two sides of the same coin. Freedom implies responsibility for decisions made. When decisions are made by some, and others are responsible for the consequences, this is not freedom.

@@PlayNiceFolks I agree with your argument. Indeed, people in general stick to rules, regulations, and superficiality in their relationships to others, independently of the political spectrum they associate themselves. They hide behind relational formulas they somehow caught throughout their lives. And they follow those who promise to establish the strongest ones. Social media leaves people in the utmost abstract and superficial state of relating to others including themselves. You hit the nail on its head saying that only the “intense personal experience” and I would add with others and oneself, makes everything possible, and thus opens the space for true freedom of (inter)action. People foremost don’t and avoid to know themselves but believe to “know” others. I would even go so far to say that people are actually afraid of (knowing and accepting) themselves and they project their fear onto others.

30:45 _"[Those who were] black became African-Americans, [those who were] fat became weight-challenged, torture becomes enhanched interrogation technique, and my joking proposal was 'why shouldn't [...] then rape become enhanced seduction technique?'"_ He then comments around 36:10 about coming conflicts. This somehow sounds so weirdly prescient given the "special military denazification operation" that the Invasion of Ukraine came to be called.

Free Will, Language, and Political Power / However to have free will the mind needs a certain possibilities of discernment the mind can perceive , however that perception must be approximation to a certain reality, "human reality" When reality is manufactured conditioned and domesticated to keep a society functioning on specific rules freedom no longer exist, what does exist are concepts memory & experience. the conclusion of any experience is determined by your cognitive capacity, which is determined by your upbringings' what you saw as a child and how that picture develop & fits with the current reality of the here & now. The here and now evolves & schooling cannot evolve in relation to the current reality the individual exist, existence remains fix in this context & reality is always evolving, nothing remains fix everything is on a perpetual movement. Human limitation exist on this fact that the animal humans will remain as an animal human, his mind is what is believed to be superior ethereal & spiritual, however mind is fix to the animal body/ better enjoy the body pleasure and understand the ethereal mind keep them as one

20:00 No doubt every person shall be protected against any corporal punishment and vast majority would agree on. But who is going to establish those "taboo topics" that we shall not discuss about? Prof. Zizek is proposing here a very dangerous tool that can be used by different lobby groups in order to raise their interest and shut out debate on it. It's a double-edged sword. No matter are you having leftist or rightist point of view you could be excluded.

You can pretty much avoid the annoyance of watching him tic by understanding his simple message: I hate life. I hate liberty. It reveals to me my inadequacies. I am not up to radical freedom because the implication is that if I don't write a great sonnet or film a great movie or sculpt in bronze, that there is no external force to blame besides my lack of motivation, talent, or inspiration. There's a simple answer and I'm sure he would also hate it. You are the only one with authority to make what ever it is you're doing okay. So why aren't you making it okay?
