@@ark9833 you can get by without Russian - only older generation speaks Russian anyway. Most youngsters speak decent English and most people in tourism industry speak some amount of English. Senior people prob won’t speak any English, but I am sure it’s possible to find a way to communicate if you have to.

It comes from animals like wild boars that have tusks that they use to dig around in the ground for food. Rooting around comes from maybe the roots of plants that are in the ground, or from route which is the path that you are traveling on.
