So our family size increased from 4 to 8 (including my parents). So we needed a big car and found Carens to be the best option and affordable to us. If someone could afford 30L or more then I would suggest to go for Innova Crysta.

I drive a T-roc . It delivers 23 KMPL when i drive at 75 KMPH to 100 KMPH. Many times i have observed it while driving from Malumichampatti to Pollachi . Its a hassle free road. At the same time It can accelerate with exuberance in sports mode. So we get both the worlds in one vehicle . Im sure the 1.5 petrol Evo engine is a gem. Be it Slavia or Taigun or T-roc or Kushaq or Virtus

Dear People who are blabbering about mileage Every Turbo model petrol cars whether it's a Venue,Sonet,Magnite or Creta every car is giving from 5 to 10 as max in city.Petrol and Turbo are the worst Combination In city traffic but once the Speed got up you will definitely get above 12 on normal legs and not on heavy legs.You can't expect Performance and mileage both at the same time

If you are taking the service pack then it is cheaper compared to even maruti suzuki service cost. I am using the same 1 litre Tsi engine in Vento and I have a service pack. I am using an automatic variant and I am getting 11 to 12km in city and in highway it is 15 to 18km on an average. If you are going long distance highway cruise then definitely you will get better mileage figures. It all depends on how you put your feet in the accelerator ie relaxed driving or aggressive driving. I had a deisel maruti dezire earlier and I am saying it from my own experience.

Hi, I have an issue with my skoda rapid ambition plus 1.6 TDI CR hold the register number at 5311 km on 07-01-2015 i faced a issue with injector and suffered a lot And next at 6,675km on 22-01-2015 again i faced a problem with injector it’s a bad experience and next at 32268km again one injector issue and on 16-12-2017,20-12-2017 again and again glow plug indication and Again the glow plug indication came on 17-01-2018 On 5th Feb 2018 they have replaced the complete fuel system for Warning lamp issues at odometer reading of 35280. I followed the workshop instructions to fill fuel in good fuel station and i am filling in Bharath company owned fuel station Anna Nagar Chennai and workshop suggested Bharath fuel station in tirunelveli and maintained above quater tank . After replacing the fuel system my vehicle crosses 43,000kms and 4 years & 6 months. My vehicle has no issues in between time. Again on 19th Oct 2022 again the injector issue with the odometer reading of 78880 kms .

15 around mileage can be achieved only if driven at around 90 KMPH .. people choose skoda only for power and high speed stability..if driven at 140 or more mileage will seriously drop to single digit .. .. for driving at 90 kmph no need of Skoda, maruti is enough. This is where diesel makes difference and lack of TDI is surely a miss.

I'd pick the City V MT instead of the Slavia Ambition. It should be very similar in terms of space and City ivtec would have a better drivablity in the city than the Slavia as there's no turbo lag and descent ride on the highway as well. I'm pretty sure the Honda ivtec will be more frugal than the 1.0 TSI and also doesn't lack that much fun. The city V MT Should also be a better handler than the Slavia as it lays low and tuned so. But, the high speed stability on the straight line and pedal to metal feeling post 2000 RPM in the Slavia will be better and more satisfying. If it's 1.5 Evo TSI VS 1.5 ivtec, it's the Evo TSI that's more fun..😊 No matter whatever localisation the dealers say, Skoda and VW's are expensive to maintain if one wishes to keep the car for at least 5 years or ride more than 1,00,000 Km. If one drives less than that, Skoda should keep the customer happy. Currently my Jazz i-Dtec(2016) is going to touch 1,40,000 Km on the odo. I have just spent for tyres, brake pads,discs when they don't perform adequate and I have replaced the clutch assembly that costed 25,000 at 1,34,000 Km and I think its a fair expense and the clutch is feather light like a brand new car. It still returns 20-21 Km if I ride it till 110 kmph. And doesnt get below 19 kmpl at all even in the city. I'm pretty sure, if something like a headlamp or the wing mirror gets damaged, one has to spend a fortune to get it replaced. Labour is also on the higher front. Clutch assembly took 60-75k on my Uncle's 1.6 Rapid TDi which was 3 years back. Now, it should just be costlier..😊 Anyhow, ground clearance mattered much for Mr Raj and I hope it satisfies him in the long term.👍

I don't know about other things you have mentioned, but it is not the ground clearance that determines the ride unless it has the same suspension setup- if you have a stiff suspension the vehicle won't roll and will be good to handle but you would feel the bumps, and if it is soft you will have a comfortable ride but there will be cornering roll. Honda prioritizes comfort(softer) and skoda handling (stiff)

@@saranki95 C type charging ports can be fixed with Mini USB - USB C adapters that looks good for Rs 300. That too you get a pair of adapters. Dashboard looks are very subjective. But, accessing AC controls in a polished analog clicky feedback is more easier to touch and control than pressing the touch panel without taking one's eyes of the road when one's actually driving. I don't think just the adjustable headrest itself would make the seat more comfortable. My sofa doesn't have an additional headrest. But, it's more comfortable than the S Class seat to sit in. Jokes aside, the rear seat of the city isn't short enough to keep their heads rested even for people who are around 6'1. Even with the base variant city, you get alloy wheels, push Button start, cruise control and even a not so great looking in car entertainment system (subjective) but , at least has android auto and Apple car play. The map apps that comes even with car's ICE are not as reliable as Google maps when it comes for navigation in India. So, 1.0 TSI can really be fun when road is empty and when you want pull a very quick overtake, it comes in handy. Whereas, the 1.5 ivtec is quick in the early RPM without any noticeable lag and very tractable and gets linear as the revs climb. But, no harshness or vibrations. I just think the City is behind Slavia/ Virtus in NVH levels. Even though the engine is pretty refined, the road noise enters City's cabin slightly more than the German cousins at higher speeds.

Just bought honda city 5 gen.. excellent car with good ground clearance.. i recommend anyone to buy it.. mileage is above 14 on average.. in highways can get 18

Good review

If u need to extract milegae from turbo petrol we need to have light foot. Especially in cities..shift to 4th gear as early as possible in a slow fashion from start stop traffic. Gear shift at 1200 rpms..don't cross 1700 rpm in cities..in highways this car pulls from 120-160kms speed in 6th gear owing to torque. But takes little extra secs..and mileage does not drop drastically. If pulled in 4th gear till 175km/hr mileage drops to 7-9 but pulling is quite quicker..no match to this kind of power in any cars..even xuv 700 2.0 turbo petrol goes to 140 easily but 140-160 takes time. ...and 1.0 tsi catches up at that time frame. But beyond 170 , 1.0 tsi takes time to touch 190 , that's where 1.5 tsi comes into picture.1.5 is pure pure bliss till 180... it just touches speeds at blink of the eye.... Infact there is no match for skoda vw in India currently at this price bracket for performance. People talk about ivtec kick in kick in...but a well maintained ivetec can try harder but a normal honda city can't even imagine to come closer for performance. ..forget Nissan Hyundai maruthi Kia ... Best package with necessary features and performance is only skoda vw currently at this price range...

Why someone travel at 80 -90 ? What is the use ? Car in highway definitely need to touch 100-120 at least, lesser speed than 100 is useless and not practical on an open highway. Even smaller cars like Swift , Maruti sprint >100 and still able to give a milage of 16 +. So these people say we should go slower than these S presso and Tata Punch ? After spending 19+ lacs getting 8 to 10 kmpl is not worth

I too faced this question. In my opinion, car cost should not go beyond 20% of our CTC. If a person earns 40L per year, he/she can buy 8L car without any worries. But many of us are not that fortunate. So, I guess, its better save up to 4L and buy a used car. Losing peace over car loan is not worth it unless the car is for business purpose.

thala, first car na... please buy a used petrol hatcback car for 2 to 3 lakhs and understand about it(your usage, service cost, fuel cost, place to park, etc). once your comfortable with all these go for a new car after 3 or 4 years.

I am a slavia owner. Mileage will be around 10 km/l in city traffic and in highways with appropriate precautions l have got max of 16.7 km/ l. But others have got it even more than that... Not sure why Birla sir included mileage parameter in the title...

Once upon a time....

Volkswagen/Skoda should simply launch the diesel engines. Vw diesel engines were too good in terms of power and performance. 3 cylinder 1.0 litre engine is simply not right for this car. Mileage with petrol is too bad

Sir, I too own a skoda slavia 1.0 AT I’m getting a mileage of 11Kmpl. I have very few disadvantages after usage of one month. 1. Reverse parking camera quality is very poor with no dynamic guidelines. 2. Horn quality - no that older skoda horns we get in slavia. 3. Central locking button place on left side which become inaccessible to the driver. 4.Rear disc brakes missing. 5.Lane watch camera missing. 6.Steel pedals missing, which makes the car to fail in sportier look.

The lane watch is a very useful feature to have, loved it in the Honda City, although it is poor quality feed. IMO, rear discs doesnt matter as long as the braking is strong.

now 95% made in india skoda and volkswagen! 4years service plan for 24000 bro! now volkswagen and skoda cheaper to maintenance! but slightly higher than maruthi! worth for price! build quality strong!

Skoda and Volkswagen car recent ah unga parambarai laye illa nu nallaa theriyuhdu... What you are saying is old. This is made in India from an Indian specific architecture platform. My brother has a Taigun, service cost is reasonable. If you buy service package then it's almost as same as a Hyundai's service cost. Not too high like old Volkswagen. My uncle has a passat and it's service cost is as high as an Audi/BMW. New cars cost less for service.

Simply 10 Lakhs SCODA = 20 Lakhs SLAVIA 😁

3 cylinder and 1 litter. Why ppl spend money for such cars. Buying cars in first slots are not advisable. They rectify errors from first car slots

Hlo first understand what they are provided on that engine. They provided turbo charged tsi engine very powerful no car in that price range can't even touch that performance. It has 114 bhp . In modern engineering , using less cc Skoda ,vw give more power , performance oriented engines. Don't see cc , see what they provided on that engine

Dear people who think making turbo gonna ruin engine in Long run just think about all the diesel engine cars they all had Turbo from the start.If you thought Turbo gonna ruin engine in long run means not many 10 years old diesel cars can run now

True …doesn’t make sense spending 15 lakhs on a 1 ltr 3 cyl turbo engine instead would happily settle with 1.5 NA which doesn’t have turbo lag and will be linear throughout the power band yes if it’s 1.5 Turbo 4 cyl then it’s going to be far superior than 1.5 NA but settling for 3 cyl 1 ltr engine is surely not a pick for me

There are options like maruthi and hyundai that will give you value for money and mileage. People who care about only mileage and economy can go for that.

I prefer 1. Honda City 2. Ciaz Alpha Hybrid Slavia is waste of money
