Great battle report! More soulblight please! Just remember your vampires have "The Hunger" allowing them to regain D3 wounds once they kill a model in melee.

One minor point, your Chaos Knights roll their lowest dice to a 4 when charging with the trumpet ability :)

Chaos Chariots have the Single keyword in the Notes where you look at points, that means you can't reinforce them to take 2 in one unit, instead they have that weird rule where you can take 3. So you either take 1 or 3 in a unit. :)

@@nickreeves4248 Single stops you from reinforcing, but when you take a unit you have a choice to EITHER make it a unit of 1 model OR 3, paying points appropriately for it. You can see that note at the end of the Slaves to Darkness book, but I'm sure other armies have similar units

Grave guard are definitely an auto include! I suggest trying zombies rather than skeletons and swapping out the dragon for some blood knights!

Thanks for more AoS uploads, enjoyable as always. Those poor Chaos Knights. I believe you forgot to attack with their horses every time, so there would've probably been a few more dead Graveguard. Also didn't they get a new rule that lets them change one of their charge dice to a 4?

im an aos veteran and all I have to say is that buffed grave guard unit attacking twice would've deleted most units out there. it just happens to be a unit with a 2+ save.

Lovely game and fun batrep to see, me myself played a game yesterday against Seraphon, i had Blades of Khorne. I got totally board wiped. Didnt kill a single unit, not even a single SKINK unit. I rolled so badly that it was an onesided slaugther... Well cant spell slaughter without laughter. And also a new year incoming so hope for better rolls. I had 3 bloodthirsters, and made 6 dmg in total... so you can guess how bad the rolls were. Kind regards and happy new year and good fortune for ye all whom reads this. 😇🥳🐢🐊🍻🍻🥂🍾🌃

I agree. The oft overlooked Legacy of Kain was a great game. Malik basically failed in his duty because he was getting laid.

Great battlerep as always. Love both armies. I would really enjoy to see more Ossiarchs , maybe with some good old khemri screaming sku... I mean with some mortek crawlern ;)

Blood knights are amazing! strongly suggest getting them :D Using them to charge then next turn move away and charge again keeps their ability when doing so active, they are quite sturdy too! Love the content :)

Great game guys, loving the AOS content. While I understand the comments about the double turn, I think it's incredibly important in game because it prevents a quicker army from being able to take an army out of the game. Being able to pre measure ranges means you can leave an opponent unable to do anything, or only fight battles on one players terms.

What a great battle! Keep on bringing on the AoS. I find myself conflicted with the double turn. Innately I agree, but I feel as tho that the ghb giving armies getting hit a reward for being forced to go second is nice. The new ghb should help here

Been recently watching the ye old world battle reps so going back and seeing some of the armies in Aos form has made for an interesting change for sure...

My two AOS armies are Soulblights and Ogre Mawtribes. Love bringing vampire lord on zombie dragon or Mannfred as my general. 3 blood knights and 60 grave guards (3 x 20 units) is a lot of fun to play. Loving the Sigmar content! You should run Kastelai dynasty, Spider. You will love it. the best one IMO.

Here's the deal with getting a membership everyone. You won't notice the few dollars a month that it costs. You WILL notice all the awesome content you have multiple times per week to keep you entertained. It's a no brainer.

48:10 Totally agree about the double turn. My friends and I have a house rule where we don't roll for priority on turn 1-2 as the player that went first on turn 1 often can't do very much. By keeping the same turn order at least until BR3 both players get a decent crack at doing their stuff. We do priorty rolls for the rest of the turns (3,4 and 5) but I'm still not a big fan of it. The way combat works in AofS mitigates it to some extent but lists with strong shooting can get really out of hand (imagine 40k but one player gets to have two turns in a row-Horrible). Luckily none of my friends take crazy shooting lists. If anything I'd like to see GW go in the oposite direction and make games with a squad by sqaud activation system like you have in Bolt Action. One of the things that put me off 40k was the number of games that are over by the end of player 1's first shooting phase. Player 2 is not wiped out but his losses are so great that he's basically done-All before he could even move a single piece.

I think the general consensus is that at least one big unit of grave guard is the GOAT in Soulblight lists, but it's certainly not the only option. They are real fragile, so in some match ups they just get blown to bits before they get to do anything.

Unless they've changed it since I last played, you get to roll to bring back units in every battleshock phase, not just your own And you also get to move and heal with the swarm at the end of every hero phase, unless that has also changed

You could have piled in the vamp lord on foot vs the manticore to have moved her away from the warriors. Gotta play those shenanigans lol

We do tutorials with Fletcher here on this channel, most are over on our website On Demand though.

Another minor point, a vampire can fight in combat at the same time as a summonable unit, so on your T1 , your vampire lord on zombie dragon could have fought and then your graveguard could have activated immediately before beard fought.

What did the chaos guys unit do the whole game? Just chill in the back?

I play SBGL as well and my advice is to never take the artifact on the necromancer, you should never need the 18” aura when you have 2 vampires, a necromancer and 4 gravesites on the table, the whole table should usually be largely covered, this frees up other artifacts for you to use.

Just getting into AoS. This is so fun to watch and learn. Fucking legends

Really enjoying the AoS. While 40k is great, fantasy has always been a bit more my thing aesthetically. Especially the undead stuff. Looking forward to Nighthaunt after the shorts showing Lady O. and the Chariot. Fletcher did such a great job with 'em, wanna see the rest. Plus spoopy ghosts seems like an army I see myself playing.

Playing Vrykos, I would use Rudakar, or Belladamma Volga. Maybe one of Rudakars’ court like Kritza, or Gorslav.

An exploding 6s to hit aura as well as an extra attack aura on the charge is supper powerful with grave guard. Not to mention, the ability to use deadly coordination.

SBGL guy, you roll to bring back slain units every battle shock phase not just your own.

Is it just me or do Knights still feel underwhelming? The 4s to hit is killing them imo. Great game guys loved the enthusiasm and banter - you made my day!

The Warlord CP can only be “activated” in your own hero phase, so if it’s your turn, not in the other players turn. A minor detail, but wanted to let you know.

Where does it say that, as the rules say both players can do a Heroic Action, and nothing in Heroic Leadership says you can't do it in your opponents turn?

@@tabletoptactics Oh no, Heroic Leadership is as you say, but if I'm not mistaken Soulblight used the CP from the Warlord battalion in the turn of the Slaves To Darkness, which is not possible.

Great to see you guys do more AoS! Quick note as I just started watching. The Chaos Warriors were deployed waaay too much forward. In Head On Collision you deploy 9” or more away from enemy territory, so in that case from the middle. The Chaos Warriors were basically on the middle objective when deploying, which isn’t possible. Cheers!

Remember: if a vampire unit kills a unit it has The Hunger ability where it can heal D3 wounds. So your lord on zombie dragon would have healed after killing the prince.

I mean, if we are going pure competitive, I don’t think either chariot is worth it tbh. Daemon Prince is also absolute hot garbage, as much as I adore the mini and the lore.

doesn't the rule book say you have to roll for priority in the 1. turn and the player who finished deploying first wins ties. where did that change?

That is how priority works in the core rules (and I personally find it way more interesting to play that way). Sadly the 'Matched Play' rules override it and whoever finished deploying first just gets to choose automatically for the first battle round..

Graveguard definitely bring pain. Running them with a vampire lord and legion of blood makes them delete

Pretty sure Beard has deployed his warriors waaaay too far forward. Supposed to be 9" from the middle objective.

On the double turns, I've seen some people get ruined in the first couple of battlerounds be able to get back into the game because of it. Granted, it can also cause people to get absolutely demolished, so it is a double edged sword. As the editions have gone on GW has gotten better at actually giving some benefits to going second, though I think it's fair to say it's still not perfect. Still it does potentially punish people from over extending, and can give people on the backfoot a fighting chance, so overall I like it, though I wish GW would do more to make going second a more viable option.

i always hated the double turn and i play since first edition of AoS. Its just not fun.

You haven’t lived until you’ve run Blood knights as battleline in Kastelai Dynasty. Put a Vengorian Lord as your general to soak up damage cause it never dies. Skeletons and/or zombies as your screen. Fell Bats and/or wolves to take objectives, and let the Vampire Lord Zombie Dragon and 20 Blood knights wipe the board. So satisfying.

VLOZD should’ve healed after killing DP. The Hunger. Spite tongue curse wouldn’t have killed it.

Is Katie OK? It sounds like she couldn't open her mouth properly! Hope it wasn't anything major/she was just eating a particularly large gobstopper... Awesome report.. really fun and chilled out; and not afraid to show the mistakes people make!
