I am wondering now that Slate has a rechargeable option and a floss head with Nano-Hydroxyapatite (if the amount even matters), would you still recommend Flaus over Slate? I also would like to know if price and replacing heads was not an issue, does Slate do a better job (assuming I change it as often as needed)?

Thank you Dr Nemeth this is awesome dental/health intel! I'm going to order the Flaus since I don't want frayed dental floss! It's great device to avoid germy hands & impaired finger circulation from using sticky, gross conventional dental floss! Flaus has a sleeker design that looks easier to maneuver inbetween tight teeth & its bite pad should solve! I have bilateral Carpal tunnel pain from conventional flossing too that I hope Flaus reduces!

I really like the idea of this flosser. My concern is transferring bacteria around from one gum pocket to the next. I didn’t see you changing or cleaning the floss as it moved between one space between teeth to the next. Please advise. Thank you for sharing

I just got Flaus. I have pretty tight teeth and you have to be gentle biting the floss down or it will fray and bend. It’s a learning curve but I like it very much. I can get way back behind my teeth.

I ordered right from the company. I went through a few before having the right direction. You get a box of heads and I think they set you up on subscription automatically for a use of one a day. I got an email saying my coming of heads were getting rescheduled to ship so I just did a skip on it. So I’m thinking they are one use heads but I use till it breaks. Just dip in alcohol to clean. I love it very much. My teeth don’t bleed anymore. I 💯 recommend it

I used waterpik for many years but it does not clean efficiently. I now use interdental brushes instead. Also the Easy Flosser clean perfectly between teeth. But the interdental is my favorite specially the new Gap picker brand..

Found this information….”FLAUS avoids use of petroleum-based plastics such as polypropylene plastic and nylon commonly found in oral care products. These plastics come from fossil fuels; they are both non-biodegradable and non-compostable. There are no forever chemicals in FLAUS such as PFAS, which have been linked to hormone distruption, liver damage, and cancer. FLAUS has also partnered with Plastic Bank and pledged to prevent 100 plastic bottles from reaching the oceans for each unit sold.”

Your mouth is wet and warm (the best breeding ground for bacteria) and your saliva transports bacteria around all by itself. Makes no scientific sense to use new floss for each tooth. Do you use a new toothbrush every time you brush your teeth? It's the same principle. It's an ick you have created for yourself.

You do know that bacteria is also on your toothbrush that you use daily right? You need to wash it with soap before every use and the same with flosser. Unless you have one of those Uv light sanitizers for your toothbrush.

May I ask this? Can bad breath after tooth extraction is because of gerd? Since I got my tooth extracted my bb won't go away 😭 I don't even have dry socket and tooth cavities. It's been years already and my halitosis won't go away. I always have this sour taste in my mouth. I got bb after my tooth extraction 😭 that tooth didn't even had a decay it just became swollen all of a sudden then it hurts. I research about gerd and it causes bad breath. I think I have silent gerd because, I don't bhave severe symptoms like vomiting blood. It's just normal symptoms like unnoticeable, i have shortness of breath, i always feel full, sour taste, it's hard for me to swallow 😭

Seems like with a needle it could thread a new piece of floss with a knot on both ends. I feel like the rubber pieces on the each end of the slate would message the gum better, shame it's not rechargable.

Has anyone tried this product to get rid of plaque, tartar and or calculus? I am so upset at myself for causing gum recession and other oral health problems and where I have gum recession I always get tartar, plaque and or calculus built up even after getting dental cleanings done 2 times a year. I know or assume because I have the gum recession where I have the gum recession I have that that is where the plaque, tartar and or calculus builds up. I end up having to wait until my next cleanings to get the plaque, tartar and or calculus removed and I'm so sick of having to wait such long periods to get rid of the stuff that builds up at where I have the gum recession. I floss every night, use something like a scaling device (it has a small rubber tip at the end of the product to clean out the build up stuff and brush every night to take care of my oral health as best I can, but I still see the stuff built up at the gum recession areas. I can only do what I can do in the best of my abilities to take care of my oral health. I really need a product that can at least keep those gum recession areas clean so I won't have build up at those areas at my cleanings. I know I have to or can hope to try to some gum grafting in the future to solve the gum recession issue I have but I can't think about that right now. I can only do what I can do for now regarding the oral health issues I have. I have tried an electronic scaling device before to try to remove the build up but it doesn't really work so well (or it doesn't work so well when I use the product to get rid of the build up where I use the device behind the back of my front lower teeth).
